Hang on there Jim don't give up we all get bits breaking off and it usually happens when we are nearly finished, I don't think there is one scroller out there that as not glued a broken piece back in to a portrait at one time or another. When you are cutting a detailed section use a new blade and don't push the wood, feed it let the blade do the work as for thin lines try and incorporate a long tear drop at one end so you can fit your blade through, try different speeds on a scrap piece and use a fine a tooth blade as you can. If you can ,post a pick of the area that broke off..........Paul PS don't even think about giving up or I will be on the next plane over

    Hello all

    Hi Jim and welcome to the Village, I know what you mean that first cut all nice and neat then the second cut with a few more bends and curls and then it grabbs you and you can't stop and you end up with a pile of nice shapes on the bench, its great when you first get a saw, grab a few patterns we have plenty and get busy, hope to see some of your work soon..........Paul

  17. Tree's you can get some great wood from recycled tree's ......vinyl records are good for word art and you dont have to frame them just use the hole in the middle to hang them................Paul .
