Thanks for the help. I will give the flat end spirals a try and also try to straighten out the 2/0 blades with some needle nose pliers.

New to this forum but have gotten many good tips from you guys....thanks. My questiion concerns blades. I do portraits and use the FD Spiral 2/0 blade. It does a great job but I've thrown a bunch of perfectly good blades away because the end keeps snapping off due to the fact that they are not flat end blades. I see Mike (Mike's Workshop) has the #1 and #3 Spiral "flat end blades" for sale. Are either of these type of blades comparable to the 2/0 blade. In other words can I do portraits with them? Any help would be appreciated.....Walter
