    i'VE HAD A FEW PROBLEMS WITH VERY THIN CUT IN PINE,WHITE WOOD PINE.oNE OF THE MUSCLE MAN PROJECTS ON THE LOWER LEGS ,CALF IT CLOSED UP ON ME. sO I PUT A WEDGE IN IT AND THAT FIXED THAT ONE FOR NOW I DID TAKE THE WEDGE OUT THE NEXT DAY. sORRY FOR THE CAPITALS ! oTHER PROJECTS I HAD PROBLEMS TOO BUT ONLY I KNOW WHERE THEY ARE SO I LET IT GO AS IS .

    Hi Jim and welcome to the village.I avoid poplar because it cuts hard.i would'nt think of cutting it with a 2/o blade unless it was 1/8" or thiner.Thanks for being a valued member!

    the birch from the big box stores is very strong and easy to cut.and comes in 2'x2' or 2' x 4' 1/8" or 1/4 ".
