I'm thinking the blades are very thin like #3 or smaller so tightening to tight will break them there.
Miniatures have that special charm about them.I enlarged a difficult cross for s customer and when they got it complained about the size.I told her it's very difficult to cut .She said the smaller size is what appealed to her to want it.
When i first started scrolling with big box store blades this never happened.But then years down the line i switched to scroll reverse blades and started having the problem your stating.The reverse part of the blade was the cause of the wood jumping.I learned to hold down the wood more .The benefits of the scroll reverse blades are clean no sand top and bottom of your projects.
Thanks ,after all the time i spent on cutting the wood ,gluing it all together , nailing and stretching the canvas on with a picture on 12 hours. She asked how much.I told her what ever you think.She gave me $20,00 Guess that made her happy
