  1. HI Travis, I'd like to make Steve's tissue box with one side reading "DO YOU WANT TO GET WELL?" (John 5:6) I'm a real novice and I would appreciate any help you can send my way. Thanks, Phil
  2. I have a piece with a base that needs to be attached with glue. Should I glue it before or after applying lemon oil? Thanks, Phil
  3. Someone , somewhere mentioned tilting the saw. I thought I'd give it a try. I raised the rear end of the saw 3 inches. It makes a big difference in seeing what you are doing. Thank you. Thank you. Phil
  4. Took the plunge. Brought back the Porter Cable and picked up a 788. There is some blade movement forward on the down stroke and rearward on the up stroke. Any suggestions? Thanks, Phil
  5. New to scrolling, I'm having a problem with pattern adhesive. I've been using a spray adhesive and half way thru the job the pattern starts to peel off. Any suggestions? Please be specific. Thanks, Phil
  6. I'm new to scrolling. I recently purchased a Porter Cable scrollsaw (my first) at Loews. I believe it is made specifically for Loews. Does anyone have any experience with this saw? I have made about two dozen pieces on it an it seems the lower end of the blade vibrates side to side about a sixteenth of an inch while running. Is this normal? The upper end is steady but the lower becomes a blur when there is no pressure on it. HELP !! Thanks, Phil
  7. Is there a great deal of difference between blade manufacturers? Which do you prefer? Thanks, Phil
  8. Hi all, I'm new here. I'm also new to scrollsawing. I just bought a Porter Cable scrollsaw and I really enjoy using it. Except for one thing....trying to insert a plain end blade into the lower (jaw?-blade clamp?). The thing that holds the blade is simply a screw and when it is tightened, it bends the blade. Does any one make a blade clamp where the screw is covered (vise-like) that will accept both pin and plain blades?...and will fit a Porter Cable? Thanks for any info. Phil
