    I use the tilt mode, when making the 4 pieces puzzle, it's a brain teaser. I use it as gift and also for marketing when I'm in an exposition booth. It's always a success.

    Yes Angus, this is what I'm talking about, will follow your advice, to leave the arm level. But it's something interresting if it was easy to change the level to use the blades on another area. More economical also. May be one day the technology will permit it. Thanks a lot for the info.

    I read some where on the net a while ago, that the Excalibur is adjustable in 2 positions in order to be able using the blade on two different area. For the owners of Excalibur, could you please explain how to make this setting.

    I do have Word Art on my Microsoft Word, thank you very much, never thought about it before. May be some one can help, I 'm trying to print a 10 inches height letter on MS Word, in Word Art, and will cut it after. I'm not being able to do it, can I print on a full A4 paper, I removed the Header and footer, but still, I'm not being able to print the 10 inches height letter, is there a trick?

    Thanks a lot for the ideas received, I looking after a scrolling font, I do have the basic scrollsaw font, had been using it for decades, would like to change, but I'm looking after a font which hold the letters together when cut. Which fonts will be the best and where to download them? Thanking you in advance.

    Jim, I check the rubber on the Hegner, have'nt seen any thing about it, could you please send me a picture of it if possible. Will be glad to be able to lift the arm further up.

    I usually use the spray, but here in Belgium, it cost 15€ for a can, CRAZY, Now I use the white tape and ordinary standard wood glue, which I spread on the tape, and put the pattern on, then I use a pastry roll, on which I glued a soft rubber. Just roll on the pattern to remove all the air underneath, and leave it over night. This technic need to be done a day before. It's the lowest cost and I'm very happy with it. Just started to use it last Saturday, I was running out of the spray and wanted to scroll on Sunday. Will keep this technic. With 1 kg of white wood glue will go for years. With the spray, sometimes , the pattern lift up while cutting, with the wood glue and the pastry roll, this never happen.

    Thank you very much Jim for the advice, I did the same last Sunday, love it, very easy now to replace the blade. Hegner must think about this.

    After some investigation, my choice is going towards the Excalibur, love the Hegner very much, got one for the last + - 15 yrs, but the top arm do not lift up for the Hegner, quiet inconvenient for bottom feeding. The Excalibur , the top arm can de raised and very easy for top feeding. I took notice since I change the quick clamp with the big knob on the blade holder, the blades breaks more often., because the screw on top of the blade holder need to remain tighted, but with the old method, using the key, the top screw can be release about a quarter turn, to let the blade ocilliate easier. For the Excalibur, does the blade clamp remain tighted or it can oscillate easily. I have'nt seen the machine yet, because we do not have it in Belgium, will have to order it from France. Just need some info about the blade holder of the Excalibur, thanks to all you for your advices.

    Thanks a lot, with give it a tried, I'm also looking after a simpler model; without any articulated piece, just a plain card holder with opening on both side to remove the card easily, does any one have an idea about this.

    I love the Dewalt 788, unfortunately it's not available on the Belgium market, even in France / Germany and Holland. Cannot know why, all od these countries sells Dewalt tools, except the scrollsaw.

    Thanks a lot for the answers, will check concerning the motor, brushed or not. What I like with Hegner is aven after 18 years I was able to upgrade the top arm, with a quick tension release. I'm afraid that with Excalibur, in some years, the machine become obsolete. Will check the motor, of the Excalibur. But since I change the top arm, with the quick tension and the big alumunium knob, the blades breaks more often, comparing with the standard clamp. The quick clamp is a universal model, even cutting with a N° 2 / 3 / 5 / 7 / 9 it's the same clamp, comparing to the standard model with different clamp dimensions. A point that I'm thinking about, what about the Excalibur, did anybody had any issue about the quick clamps?

    Goodmorning to all members , no doubt I will have good advices here. I have a Hegner 2s, bought 18 yrs ago / 18 inches depth. Since november 2013, I'm very active ih scrollsawing. For the last 18 yrs, the Hegner has been on the shelves a good 10 yrs. But now I'm back for long I guess, I'm looking forward to buy a new scrollsaw, and keep reading reviews, I would like to choose between the Hegner and Excalibur. Dimension is not an issue, since the Hegner I have now will be taken on trade show.     Doing ornaments in oak, while using the reverse blades, there are many burns on the sides. For 3D cuts, it 's not best using the non reverse blade, I mean using the one direction teeth blade.
