    Mine was also knocking but three turns on the tension rod took care of it. I did a lot of research on the problem. If adjusting the tension rod didn't take care of it and the nut on the conn rod was tight check for some play or slop in the bearing on the conn rod. The conn rod is in the back of the saw. I ordered one anyway because it's only a little over $21.00 and something told me to get it and have it on hand.
