thank you DW..On the "K"box..my wife's initial btw, I used mahogany for the lid and the box is maple. The fish has an oak lid with a poplar and oak lamination. I like poplar for most of my work as I find the color and grain variations interesting. As time goes on, it oxidizes into some nice looks.

Hi folks, My name is Marc aka Crash Landing. I live on the central coast of California. I started scrolling about a year ago. I am still learning. I have made a few things for family and friends and my focus is on making boxes. I have borrowed some basic designs and modify them to some extent. I am currently trying to lean Inkscape with the help of Travis' online university series. I plan to use that to eventually create my own patterns. I have had some woodworking experience. I was a union carpenter for over 20 years and then changed careers to become a systems engineer for a large corporation. I find a good blend of math and sawdust keeps me happy. I am very new to this forum but what I see I find to be fun and informative. thank you, Crash
