    If you look close enough Larry you'll see some holes right next to the cut or half way into a cut, so if you turned it over it would be in the right position but if I cut them they would go straight into the other cut and drop out so they have been drilled at the wrong angle. hence sermon. Roly

    Here is the reason why your holes should be cut at 90 degrees and not with a hand drill. The holes come out the other side and you can't cut the pattern. See we all make mistakes that's how we learn. It was a day I thought I'd be clever and just drill the holes with the drill instead of my pillar drill. oops. Roly

    Well first, I found it very easy to cut I used one blade and then threw it out and I used no primer just two coats of gold spray paint. I probably will use a thicker piece in wood next time. The MDF was 1/4" thick. Make sure you use a mask with MDF bad stuff for the old lungs. Roly

    You glue each individual piece as you go with an instant glue, I suppose you can glue them all then put a weight on top it's just as it was my first one I was worried about it moving. Roly

    It took about 45min to cut no issues used a No5 blade a spot of glue on each outer curve which took the longest time making sure you align the next piece every time but the hairdryer worked great to dry it as I went and my block of wood to keep the pressure on while I dried it. Great pattern thanks. Roly

    This is the first bowl I've ever done from a pattern of Russell's (Birchwood) which was a test one it's made from MDF spray painted in gold and the next I'll try will be the one DW did. There's one thing I've learned is don't rush it. I'll have to find some decent wood and give it a go, thanks Russ and DW for the patterns. Happy New Year. Roly

    I use something similar to stand on when I do dovetails on my jig to get above the wood and look down on it. good idea. Roly
