WOW, you did a real nice job with this one. You know your stuff, when it comes to scrolling ! I like it. I also agree about the hair thing. It's difficult just laying it out for a pattern. I was doing an all black Shi-hytsu dog pattern & I just can't get it to look like it's black. Thanks for sharing your portrait. You can be proud of it.

Well done. I think everyone is afraid of spiral's. I use them consistently & I do like doing portrait's most of all. Well, other than wildlife. I like doing personal portrait's for friends & others too. I would recommend using the spirals for your portrait's, & emphasize the smaller size, the better the outcome. I use mostly 2/0 & 3/0 Flying Dutchmen blades. They have always been great for any type of fret work. Good luck with the spirals & just practice, practice. You will see the improvement as you go along. I know I did. Thanks

That is really unique. I love it. You did a real nice job cutting those angle's & will be a beautiful piece when finished. Thanks

WOW, those are really nice. I love the coloring. It does a lot for all of us. I'm glad it relaxes your wife. I think it does a lot, even for me when I add color to a piece that I've done. Thanks so much for sharing. Wonderful work by you both.

They really are beautiful pieces. I really like your variety of different pieces of work. You are talented for sure. I got an idea from your Angel, to do something like that with a dark color of acrylic & a white backer. Thanks for letting us view them. Take Care

WOW, Dave, you did a fantastic job on that pattern & cutting both. You are a Natural for sure. It was a good idea to show the picture along with your piece. It really shows how well you did. Nothing better. I like the spiral blades & have to use a flat blade now & then just to keep in practice. It takes a lot to cut the sharp corners when you are used to just moving sideways. Sometimes I even stop the saw & turn the piece just so I don't have to cut sideways. Its breaks up the monotony of cutting. Thanks for letting us see your works. Appreciate it & keep up the good work. Take Care -
WOW ! That really looks fantastic. You did a wonderful job on it. Now guess who you have to make one for. Think about it. Who suggested it? Really nice cutting. Thanks for sharing it.

Thank you all. I really like doing this kind of cuttings. After cutting my first bass, I decided to paint each one that I did after that. I just like it better with color. Some cuttings I don't want too much color or maybe not any at all. Depends on the subject. I did one of John Wayne & just dusted his vest with an oak stain & it was just enough. Thanks again everyone. PS HAPPY FATHERS DAY ALL YOU GUY'S

Hi all. Been absent for a while, but, still going. Just finished a picture for my niece's husband. He is a Bass fisherman. Didn't take too long & was done on a 1/4 in. birch ply that I had left over from Michael's store. I made the frame from one that I had on hand. I've done this Bass several times, so it is popular for me. Hope you like fish !!

Really looks nice. You put your loss to good use. I wondered what happened too. I haven't been busy lately, but, did cut something for my nieces husband. I like your choices too. You do fine work. Thanks

You really did a fine job all around. Nice pattern & will be fantastic when you finish. I love the old west stuff too. I have done gun & holster, both with the scroll saw & one pyrography too. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Thank you all so much. I don't do much of my work for sale, but, now & then I like to do something for someone, & don't charge for it. Most are for friends or relatives. Thanks again everyone.

Haven't been around much & only did a couple of Pyrography projects lately. I used this 1/2 inch piece of BBirch that I got at Michael's a while back. I beveled the edges & stained them with golden oak. The backer is just a sheet of black foam that I get from Michael's also. The couple are good friends & they really liked my portraits, so I told them I would do one of them. They travel here from Canada each winter & have been doing that for the last 29 years. I wanted to do this for them, because they may not be able to travel any more. Sure will miss their company. I used two pictures to get the right smiles for the cutting. I think it turned out fine. Thanks for looking.
