  1. Thanks for the various ideas. I'm thinking about using manilla folders and closing the top and bottom, forming a pocket type folder, then slipping the patterns in them, then punching holes to put in 3-ring binders, like all my woodworking mags.
  2. Although I really do not have have that many patterns accumulated yet, (in fact, very few), I'm wondering how the rest of you fellow scrollers store your favorite patterns for future use. Thanks. nubeescroller66#
  3. I certainly see that I have a lot to learn about blade selection for my particular machine. When I bought my Porter Cable saw, there were a couple extra blades that come with it, but I know, once I get started, there will be blade breakage. Most of my immediate practice work will be on scraps of plywood I have laying around, so, I guess, my question is: What type of blade is best for the beginner, or is there one, and when one does order blades, is it imperative the blades fit my particular model, or are all blades universal ? I do understand the concept between a pin end and pinless blade. Pardon the ignorance !
  4. Thanks for all the welcoming msgs. from Scrollsaw village members. I'm certainly anxious to get started with my scrolling. My first question is: What is the most efficient way to attach a pattern to the work piece. I'm assuming it's with a spray adhesive, but I've seen various blogs to the contrary. Probably, whichever way best suits me....eh ?
  5. I'm a retired Navy vet who has acquired an interest in scrolling. Just where I've acquired this interest, I don't know, unless it's that I like to work with wood. I recently purchased the new model of the Porter Cable scrollsaw, and am anxious to get started on some projects. I really would have preferred the Excaliber, but my budget would not allow at this time. I have a small workshop (12' x 20' ) that I do my woodworking in, which is a work in progress. Most of my woodworking is done as time allows, as I do have a part time job to support my habbit. I welcome any comments to help this "Rookie" along !
