Hi all, I'm a long-time owner of a cheap/china made scroll saw who finally decided to get involved in woodworking. Started out using the lathe a couple of years ago to make pens, now I use the table saw, jointer, planer, drill press and band saw on a regular basis. Until just recently, that poor old cheapy scrollsaw sat in the corner gathering dust and rust. I signed up for Steve's e-newsletter a couple of years ago and he's finally inspired me through the newsletter to dig that poor old tool out and dust it off. I'm still not comfortable using it yet, but I'm starting to get a few things cut out. I joined this forum to see how all of you experts make such glorious and beautiful projects using a skinny blade. Please be patient with my dumb questions as I was the guy who got kicked out of 7th grade shop and told never to return....I listened to that advice for 40 years before buying my lathe. As a result, I can't pound a nail straight, and there is a tremendous amount of things I don't understand when it comes to woodworking, but I'm learning slow but sure.
