  1. Using the tools was a tough as selling them Wayne. I spent many of my "off" hours chasing the flakes that ran out on me. It was the one part of the job that I hated but now that my son is in the business, everything has changed. Nobody can run anymore. Too many computers.
  2. Wayne, it's more than likely a Badger. S/O was famous for branding good stuff with their name. Not so much anymore.
  3. Thanks for the clarification Paul. I am going to put together on order for some wood after we get back from our trip. Once Chris has it all together, I'm going to drive out to the yard and see what he has laying around for me to scrounge. The last time he let me go through the dumpster and it's amazing what they have to toss because it's odd sizes and cutoffs. I still have a lot of it.
  4. After commenting on your post, I went back to view the video. It turns out that Mytoya is a "friend" on FB and she lives just a couple of hours from me. We have been trading emails and projects. She is a very nice lady and I truly enjoy watching her videos because they are so relaxing. Her voice will lull you into a nap.
  5. Barb, I had seen that tip somewhere before but had forgotten all about it. Thanks for the reminder.
  6. Ok, now I get it.
  7. You sound too much like me. Except mine never stops talking. Lol.
  8. Your picture makes them look 24" in width so I enquired as to length.
  9. And just how old are you Paul. I just turned 78. Older or younger?
  10. Who from Paul? Cherokee? Actually that looks like a lot of wood for that price. What species and how long are those 24" pieces. What're ya going to make?
  11. Yes, by golly. We went to Home Depot and invested in 6 8 foot 2 x 4's. We're going to put them away until he graduates high school in 3 more years. They should cover college tuition by then.
  12. What brand, how much?
  13. Kevin, you're gonna have to explain that. I'm not getting what you mean. It would leak.
  14. I can't fathom living somewhere that you have no access to what's available in other countries. Why is that? If you are willing to pay the shipping and import fees, why shouldn't you have all the options available. I'm very curious.
  15. Thanks for your input. I accidently came across it on Pinterest and had to do some searching to find the actual pattern. I found the designer on Thingyverse. Here is a pic of his name and contact info.
  16. Thanks for your comment. What I meant to say was, the BB plywood I used wasn't the best quality. I'm going to make another one out of a better grade of BB. What I had laying around was not the best and it had been water stained at one time. I guess that's why I got it for $5 for the whole sheet. Most of it is good.
  17. Bread crumbs gave him away.
  18. That is my all-time favorite book and TV series. I've read the book 3 times and watched the series more times than I can recall. I want to be cremated so I'll have to find a copy in the library wherever I end up. I have read everything that Michael Connelly has written too. I love Bosch!
  19. Ya know, I read a lot. I've read thousands of books. Mostly all fiction. There are some that stand out in my memory and I might read them more than once. But there are others that I wish I had not wasted the time. My point is, not everything is going to be great or even good. But, I will still buy a book and read it and take my chances. Same goes with magazines. Not all good but most are somewhat interesting. That's all I ask. I'm really happy that we have at least this magazine as so many others have gone down the drain. I can afford the $50 every two years.
  20. How heavy of a coat of spray adhesive do you use? I'm trying to envision using a paper towel with spray glue and I must admit, it sort of eludes me. I'll have to give it a try. Doesn't the paper towel have a lot of lint to it?
  21. I was just surfing through Pinterest and came across a spiral bowl. And any sort of bowl gets my attention. I clicked on the picture and had to do some searching to find the pattern. It's done by a person outside of the U.S. I can't recall where but they were on "Thingyverse.com" a maker site.
  22. I ran across a laser pattern and decided to give it a try. This is the prototype. Many lessons learned. The next one will be better. I used 5/16" b/bb that I had. Not the best stuff. Anyway, here it is.
  23. It's all in knowing what you're doing. I've never seen a vacuum press like that. I wonder how it seals around the edges.
  24. You might also look into Behr finishes. I made a gate for my daughter's home and finished it with Behr clear and it has lasted quite well. Also, look at deck finishes. There is one, I think it may be Johnson's that works well.
