  1. Very cool project!
  2. LOVE the new site!
  3. Finished lion woodimal. BLO with spray laquer. Some kind of soft wood...not sure what kind though. Thanks for looking!
  4. Thanks for the kind words. Kevin, send me a PM and I can send you a copy of the pattern I used.
  5. Albert Einstein portrait. Cut from 1/8" baltic birch plywood. Rub on Minwax stain, framed in a $3 Walmart frame. The paper is some heavy stock stuff I got on clearance from a local print shop.
  6. Made these last night for our bowling team. There are four in total. Ball is walnut and pins are aspen. This is my first attempt at intarsia and I realize that some of the joints are rough and the gaps are pretty obvious, but I am learning. The pins are about 2"x2". This is also my first original pattern as well.
  7. Great job! How thick is that?
  8. A piece I am working on is being cut from 1/'2 Red Cedar. When taking the piece out of the stock after I cut it, one of the limbs broke off rather easily. I won't be gluing it back as the part is rather oddly shaped. Is there a way to strengthen this wood after the piece is cut? Will applying a finish add strength to it or should I try a different type of wood? Sorry I don't have any pics now, when I get home from work I'll try to get some so you can see what I'm talking about. Thanks!
  9. Those are Apple Barrel craft paints. I took about 4 coats to get a nice solid color.
  10. I just have to show this off. I am very proud of how it turned out. I bought a scroll saw jigsaw puzzle book and one of the beginner projects is this ABC snake puzzle. I cut it from 1/2" baltic birch ply, sanded the edges, and used Apple Barrel paints on it. My wife and kids helped with the painting and my wife did the lettering because my hand writing/printing sucks.
  11. New to scrolling and to this site. Richland Center is only 3 hrs away, now I have a show to look forward to as I improve my skills.
  12. Just found this site through a Google search. Recently got a scroll saw for Father's Day and bought a couple of books with how-to's and patterns. Have made 3 different animal puzzles and a fishing rod holder. Really enjoy scrolling so far. Hope to learn more from this site as I go on. From Wisconsin, near Green Bay!
