This liquor step is designed to sit on the counter top to display the bottles at the bar. It is made from PVC http://www.kommerlingusa.com/komacel/fabrication_machining.cfml It is boxes stacked on top of each other. The top of the boxes has a custom made bubble blue plastic that fits into a 1/4" slot at the top of the boxes. We used all bright white LED's to light it up

This is the wave detail we did on the tiki bar in the resort at the Key's. These waves were made from PVC, http://www.kommerlingusa.com/komacel/technical.cfml#colors The waves were cut out on an inverted pin router using a template we made out of plywood. The light blue part is made from 3/4" material. The medium blue part and the dark blue parts are made from 1/2" material. The parts were stacked on top of each other to give it a 3D effect. They were glued with PVC glue and stainless steel screws. The waves were then painted with paint that was designed to paint plastic. The waves were done in sections. They were screwed to the stucco wall and all the holes were filled and painted to match.

We are rebuilding a resort in the Florida Keys due to the hurricane and here are some pictures of the first part of the rebuild. The wavy panel is MDF and it has a pattern on the face that was cut on a CNC router. The cabinets are all sapele plywood and sapele hardwood. The Blue color of the desk was chosen by the designer. The desk will get a stone top after the install is complete. The surround around the desk is custom made flooring with a nickle slot.

Seems like all the fun woodworking has come to a stand still. I am so sick of doing monitor frames. Like any production shop you have to take the good with the bad. Lately it has been a lot of bad boring work. I only show you guys the fun stuff. We are in the planning stages to rebuild the Islander resort in the Key's. I will be posting all of that. I will post a job we are working on. It's a giant slab of the rear Bubinga that is now on the endangers list.
-
Working on a Bubinga slab wall unit. This wood is rear to find this big. Bubinga was just put on the endangered list so there will be no more cutting. This wall unit has Sapele base cabinets and the upper cabinets are also Sapele. The drawer faces are boards that were resawn and book matched to make the panels and the grain matches on the drawers. The Bubinga slab is a live edge 2 1/2” thick x 13 1/2 feet long. We had to use a fork lift to bring it in through the second floor. The lights are all LED on a remote dimmer switch. We still need to install the cork back on the unit and I will get some better pictures when it’s done.

This kitchen was made from poplar plywood and all the doors, crown molding, redfish and scribes were made from Beech. All the doors and drawers have soft close glides and hinges.

I haven't posted in a while. The shop I am at hasn't been making anything fun for a while now. We have been making thousands of monitor frames that ship world wide and kitchens. Nothing to exciting. With the hurricane we just went through here in Florida we will be rebuilding the Islander resort in the Keys so I will be posting most of those projects

Thank you Kevin Thank you Ron, Viable lumber is where we got the Cuban Mahogany.

Thank you Steve Thank you Roly. You got to do what you got to do to get the job done.

This hat display is made of the very rear and hard to find Cuban Mahogany. This display will hold the hat of the cigar industry’s icon Carlos Fuente who passed away this year. The turning part was done on a lath, the base was done on the Legacy mill. The plaque on the bottom of the base is brushed aluminum with a brass finish, I made a stencil and sandblasted the lettering on the plate then sprayed the plate with A 14 to make it turn black and a top coat of lacquer to seal it all together. We used Odie’s oil for the finish.

Thank you guys. I wish I had more time for fishing, I just have to many things going on at the same time.

Thank you Spirithorse. We just got some broken tree branches and lots of wind here.

Thank you Steve Thank you Larry Thank you Len, It takes about 15 to 30 minutes depending on the paint job. The epoxy takes about 5 minutes to apply and 6 hours to dry on a rotisserie. Here is a link to lures I did this month.

Back to the Keys for another job install. This piece was about 30 feet long and 9 feet tall wall of artifacts from the Florida keys. Everything in that room we made at S + L Millworks. It is made from Sapele, blue laminate, brushed aluminum. Ron designed it, Diego and I built it, Bill sprayed the finish and Chris did all the graphic design work. The finish on the Sapele is pre cat lacquer.
