As you guy know I paint crankbaits. When making a vacuum form stencil for painting lures you have to cut a lure in half to vacuum form it. Till now every one was using a Dremel tool to cut it. The only problem was it was melting the plastic and it made for very uneven cuts, so using a #7 Polar scroll saw blade for cutting plastic on a scrollsaw I discovered it made this task much easier and cleaner. The hardest part was getting around the ball bearing wights inside. It worked very well.

Yesterday I started a new facebook page. I really enjoy painting crankbaits so this is where I will post all my new lures. Another type of lure making that is really taking off is hand made wood lures. I have my hands full with the lure painting, glass etching and making window decals. I will eventually start making wood lures. If you guys make wood lures and want to showcase them on my page please feel free to do so. If you are interested in selling those lures please leave your contact info instead of a price. This way you deal directly with the person wanting to buy them. If you know anyone who makes wood lures or who paints crankbaits they to can post there artwork with no strings attached. There is only one rule on this page and it is underlined above.I appreciate any help I can get starting this page. If you guys do any fretwork that is fishing related and want to post it please feel free to do so just leave your contact information if you are interested in selling it. Thank you.

There is a company here in Florida that saves trees from going into the landfills. They will also cut up trees that have fallen down in storms and cut them up and prepare them for woodworking projects. Are the any companies in your area that do the same thing.

I was challenged to make a fishing lure that looked like Nemo with all its fins, had hooks and could actually be used to catch a fish. After researching Nemo this is what I came up with. It is 3" long, floating wobbler. The right fin is smaller than the left fin.
Thank you for all your comment. I have a large sandblasting cabinet and i use medium grit black aluminum oxide. The computer programs I use for the templates are paint and inkscape. I then send that file to my die cutting machine to cut the sandblasting matt. I use the same machine to make airbrush stencils and window decals.
Marg, we throw away a lot of scrap 1/4" maple, Sapele, black melamine and some Cherry. What sizes are you looking for?
If there is a cabinet shop or woodworking shop near you I bet they wouldn't mind giving you what they would normally throw away.
Another enjoyment I have is glass etching. Here are some pictures.
Etching glass is like making a pattern for the scroll saw, when cutting the mat you need to know what is negative and what is positive or the image comes out looking like a negative instead of a picture.
