I saw a video of a guy who took a broken bandsaw blade and used it in a scroll saw. I have been doing a lot of pen turning lately and was wondering if I could try this to cut straight lines in thicker stock for pen blanks. Is this OK for my scroll saw, and is it safe? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Hello everyone, I'm new to the site and scrolling and I saw a video of someone whose cut a used bandsaw blade and ground it down on the top and bottom to fit a scroll saw. I also have been turning a Lot of pens lately and was wondering if I could do this to easily rip straight lines in thicker stock like 1 1/2 " into 3/4" turning blanks. I definitely don't want to do something that would put unwanted strain on the machine that would cause harm or cause safety issues. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks
