  1. Great story behind the project, Dick !! You're "not happy with", I'd take any day of the week !! Don't sell yourself short. I know we're all a little critical of our own work as we feel we an always do better but take it from us, you're work is fantastic.. Also nice to hear a story behind the project.. Gives a piece more "meaning".. Thanks for sharing both with us !
  2. Nice job, Roly !! What wood did u use for the mugs and what did u finish it with (if you finished it at all)...
  3. Love them all - especially the USMC one !! But then again, I'm prejudiced that way
  4. That's awesome, Paul !! Really nice work there...
  5. For the price (Free), can't go wrong.. Backup saw #5.. Well, I guess if the first 4 go, you'll still be able to put out kewl little projects
  6. Hi SSV.. Sorry if this has been asked here before.. Working on a "Welcome" sign for my Niece that she wants to put outside. The piece is going to be roughly 8" wide, 24" long, made from 1/2" red oak. I was thinking of finishing it with either Tung Oil or a 50/50 mix of boiled linseed oil and mineral spirit but read somewhere that boiled linseed oil is not water resistant at all. Then put final coats of poly on it.. Suggestions on how best to finish it while protecting it from the outside elements would be appreciated.. Thanks in advance !!
  7. Must be a common issue then 'cause my 788 does the same thing once in a while.. And here I thought it was something I did
  8. Nice !! Instead of an Easter "basket", you have an Easter "cart" !! Well done !!!
  9. Hi Travis.. Yes, I am able to use the keyboard shortcuts.. I only use a Mac so I don't have the choice of switching to a pc..
  10. Today I downloaded and installed v10.11.4 of OS X (El Capitan). It's the newest version, just came out yesterday to all. I just tried to open an Inkscape file I had created a few days ago but nothing happened - although Inkscape and Quartz does show as "running". I decided to try a new download of Inkscape first and "replace" the version I had out there (although the 2 versions are the same) and after I did that, the same file that wouldn't open before, magically appeared.. Now, I'm not sure why but that worked for me. So if anyone else is having the same issue, try re-installing Inkscape and see if that helps.. Good luck !!
  11. Hope we like it ? LOVE IT !! That is Beatles perfection right there !! You should make another one and send it to the Beatles Museum !!
  12. Hi Dave.. That came out FANTASTIC !! Nice cutting, wood choice, finish.. Awesome job !! You really got that "text within the text" thing down for sure.. Are you using Inkscape for the design ?
  13. Awesome, Kevin.. Like the way you presented it to us as well
  14. Great job, Denny ! Nicely cut and finished
  15. WOW - That's excellent, Jim !! Great work there..
  16. They look fantastic, Scott ! I myself haven't tried any "compound" cutting like that yet but I'm sure it's not that easy.. Great job..
  17. Another pattern from Mr. Good. I made 2 of these for 2 couples that we're very close with. 1/2" cherry on 1/4" plywood backer painted white, "frame" (moulding) stained to match the stain of the piece itself. Not quite finished yet.. I'm looking through my photo albums, looking for pics of the 6 of us together and will include that as part of the piece (or maybe 2 smaller pics) - in the white space. Might even consider burning the edges of the photos to give it a "different" kind of a look. Thanks for looking !!
  18. 668 cuts ? You have more patience then me, that's for sure.. Great work there...
