  1. The first pic is from today. The others from a few months ago. Small, cramped, cluttered, and dusty, but it's mine. When we built our house, I had the extra bay built with a wall and door between it and where we park our cars. I built the floor furniture. Everything but the two work benches (far wall and far left) are on casters. I put my bench grinder on my table saw when I shape my intarsia pieces. Most all my projects are scrolling, with an occasional honeydo for the house. I give the shop and tools a good cleaning between most projects.
  2. A neighbor recently asked me to make something for her husband's 75th birthday, I modified the birthday cake pattern I purchased from https://www.scrollsawartist.com/birthday-cake-with-numbers.html.

It was well received, and I've made a few others since, each personalized with a name, but this is the only golfer's tribute I have cut.

  3. In the beginning, I probably would have been voted the scroller most likely to never make anything that people would like. But with my wfe's encouragement , cajoling, and downright lying about my "really good results," I gained some confidence and have produced some passable works. So I am elevating myself from the level of poor, to semi-poor. Like most of you, I am in it for the fun of it. If it puts a few bucks in my pocket, an extra cup of coffee is all I ask for.
  4. I really like how this came together for you with hardwoods. I have a hard time finding the hardwoods that i think would work for me, so I made mine with poplar and acrylic paints. My goal is to eventually use only hardwoods for my intarsia projects. For my granddaughter, who has curly hair, my wife modified the pattern a bit.
  5. Here is a link to a photo to pattern tutorial that may help you. http://scrollsawer.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/2//2014/09/Creating_Patterns_from_Photos_GIMP2_320667169-1.pdf
  6. Very nice!
  7. Is there an accreditation that goes with scrolling, for example, what is the criteria for becoming a Master Scroller and any levels below that? Is there a certification process, or is an individual's expertise self-declared?
