This is fantastic, love it
-
I've heard about an overlay table for my saw, can anyone tell or show what this is and how to make one, my table insert has to big of a gap and small intricate pieces have nowhere to sit and end up breaking.

Bear scenery cut out of 1/4inch Baltic birch on a 10x14 plaque I had laying around, hand painted the bear claws, this one was fun, it only took about 1/2 hour to cut and about 1/2 hour to paint..

Been working on these all week, messed up a few and had to redo the, but all in all I think the turned out pretty nice. Several of these are Steve Good patterns, The praying hands with beads and the tall Jesus on a cross were custom made by Russell aka BirchBark

This is the finished product to my trio of fairies, I decided to nix the frame, I felt that the leaf frame is better suited for a different subject matter, my wife chose the new background colors, she wants the old one to go onto some other fairires that she wants me to make for her, I think I like these better.

So here is my latest project and I don't like it at all. Here is my thoughts on how to make it look better. 1) sand down the black ovals, put them back to the original wood and finish them in boiled linseed oil like the frame 2) change the center silver background to gold like the 2 outer ones What does anyone think? or If anyone has any suggestions they would be greatly appreciated, I'm finding that one of the hardest things for me is figuring out how to finish something, what finishes go well with each other...ugh
-
Thank you, and I took your advise on another project, about sanding the blank,, wouldn't you know that works perfectly....lol....I am quickly learning what not to do...lol thanks for the tip and kind words
-
I sanded it because I'm new to scrolling and Im quickly learning what not to do....lol, I recently learned to sand the wood before i even put the pattern on, this I found works very well.
