    Delta 40-694

I have the 40-690, basically the same except no lift arm holder and they improved the on /off switch so dust doesn't get in as easily as mine. I've had mine for 8 years and use it alot, starting to hear some bearing whines in it now so will probably be replacing those before to long. I love my saw but I wouldn't suggest it for compound cuts. Better to go up to an Excalibur of better if that's your thing
  2. I usually run grain vertical, unless I'm trying to get a special effect out of the grain (like ocean waves, or a persons hair). What kind of portrait are we talkin'?
  3. Thanks for the heads up. I'll make use of this!
  4. Dealt and delta are the same company. Dealt is more job sight, and delta is the shop line. That's why they turned the scroll saw back to the delta division.
  5. I too was having a problem with Miter cuts. I solved the problem by building a Miter Sled for my table saw. There are a lot of good videos out there on how to build one
  6. I use a dremel mounted in dremel drill press jig, and I have a dremel plunge router jig for bigger projects
  7. That really is amazing Randy! Just out of curiosity, how do you attach your patterns to the coins?
  8. Very nice Monti! The blo really made it pop.
  9. That is really amazing! But it doesn't look anything like Paul, he has all 10 fingers 😆😆

    Peacocks

I really like that piece! You did a great job cutting it. Who's patten is that?
  13. I also think it looks like heart wood and sap wood of a single piece. Variation is part of the beauty of wood to me. I think it looks great!
  14. Kevin, you do an amazing job keeping all those names fresh with new ideas behind them!
  15. That is very cute! Every little boy I know loves to watch the garbage truck!
  16. Congrats on your success Scott! I hope next year is even better! 😆😆
  17. Great work Helmut, it looks great!
  18. Very nice piece! I like the torching idea.
  19. I like em both, but I think the black shows up better

  21. I think that is outstanding!great designing.
  22. Thanks to all! One more question. Can you store the 50/50,or do you make a batch each time you use it?
  23. I'm trying to improve my finishing chops, and I would really like to hear about the different blo mixes you folks use and application methods. Particularly anyone who dunks the whole project. What kind of containers you use and how you deal with excess finish. Thanks for any comments and advise.
  24. I knew I had things to worry about, but I didn't know this was one of them 😕
  25. God bless Steven, you and your family are in our prayers.
