  1. Welcome to the Village. Kip from South Florida here, and I agree with Rolf, this hobby is very addictive once it hooks you. ☺
  2. Welcome to the Village from South Florida. Glad to have you with us
  3. Welcome to the Village Theresa! I always enjoy seeing your dad's projects and can't wait to see some of yours. I'm the opposite of you as I like the projects with more time on the saw, but I have to say those intarsia pieces are some of the most impressive looking projects
  4. Very nice work, looks like the ex16 fits you good!
  5. Welcome to the Village Stanley from Kip in South Florida
  6. Very nice work Kevin. Sleeping in the heat of the Day sounds good to me right now 😊
  7. Great work Helmut, looks great, thanks for sharing!
  8. Dick, nice job with the spiral, looks great. I hated spirals until I watched a Charles Dearing video where he talked about thinking of the spiral as Sanding away material instead of cutting it. After that they just clicked for me and now I like working with them.
  9. Really it depends if the glass fits or not. It's nice for keeping the dust out if there's room for it. Lately I've been making my own frames from baseboard and putting thin plexy in front.

You did an excellent job on this piece. I love the rustic frame. Saw this pattern in a catalog yesterday and was considering giving it a try
  14. Glad to hear some orders rolling in for you Kevin. They all look great, you're a cutting machine!
  15. I'll check that out Scrappile, thanks for the info. The down side of tagua is you never get a bigger piece.
  16. In my area the craft show done by the Chamber of Commerce is the only one that requires insurance. The sellers there are more like "as seen on TV" than a real craft show
  17. Awesome idea Dave, I like these alot, if my wife sees these she'll have me out there cutting a Dolphins pattern. Lol
  18. Very nice work Marg, love the wood choices. That black sassafras has very nice grain.
  19. Very nice piece of work Jerry, the pastor will love it!
  20. Nice work Ed, these are really cute. Would do well at a show I'll bet!
  21. Thanks to all for the comments
  22. By accident really, I was looking for a place to buy some Corrian to try on the saw and ran across tagua slices in my search,so I ordered a handful to experiment with. I've been having fun with them ever since
  23. Give em a try on the saw, they are small but the ivory does cut very well
  24. Thanks Marg. The white ivory is sanded to 400 grit and I clear coat the bark w lacquer while the pattern paper is still on. The bark would come off in little flakes eventually
  25. Thanks Kevin, they are about the size of a 50 cent piece, I should have put a quarter in the picture. From what I've read before they're dried the inside of the nut is jelly-like and is edible. Once dried it's like ivory though
