    Bought a DW788. Opened the box and found the bevel knob broken. Company is sending me a replacement. To the guys that have this saw did you buy the optional metal stand? Have read good and bad reviews on it so I was thinking I may make a stand for it.

    Trying to find a Dewalt at a decent price is the trick now. I have seen them for 700's down to mid 500's new.

    Thanks everyone. Saw a 788 on ebay yesterday for 399 should have jumped on it but not sure of my needs yet. I was going to play the Amazon game of sticking one in my cart and waiting for the price to get discounted the longer in sits in the cart. Works sometimes.

    Probably blasphemous to say in a scroll saw forum that I'm a CNC Router guy but have an interest in expanding my horizons and learning the art of scroll saw cutting, etc. Currently reading reviews on a few scroll saws and trying to make an educated decision on which one to start with, etc. Budget is in the <600$ range.
