  1. So I decided to start this project, I printed it out in one color, I assume the solid grey colors is the parts that get cut out?
  2. I have a lot of Scroll Saw magazines for sale, 3 for $5, buyer pays shipping. Creative crafts and woodworking and Scroll saw and woodworking. Thanks Dan
  3. all my machines and benches are on casters, I thought I was the first to think of this idea and now I see a lot of people use them. My first work bench was made out an old streacher brought home form work at the hospital, it works fine, and my second work bench is made using 2 bed side stands and a discarded heavy door, from the hospital of course. I did want to install a vented gas heater, but that might be too much work, hole in wall and permeant. I wonder how much it cost to run an electric heater? What size breaker and wire would be required for a heater?
  4. I am looking for suggestions on work shop layout, for and tools and machines. I am planning on changing my shop around, mostly because I have to take everything off the outside walls so I can insulate. Hopefully I can have a little heat in cold weather. My shop is impossible to heat as is because of 8" block wall conducts cold too good. The shop is like an ice box, I have been in there a lot in cold weather, since I love being in my shop so much. Maybe better to be a little cold than too hot. I have to carry all my projects to the den to glue and finish in cold weather. My work area is only about 10 feet x 12 feet. This is where my 2 scroll saws and work bench is. My first question is about the work bench. I want to do mostly scroll saw, puzzles and fret work and such. I also do other projects such as small boxes and such. I have a planer, band saw, table saw drill press, joiner, sanders, in the other half of the garage. My first question is about the work bench, is it better to have the bench so I can access all sides and ends or have it along the wall? I have my bench along the wall probably because of the small size of the shop. I can move it to the center if this would be better. I will have lots of more questions. If anyone wants to offer suggestions about this or other things about shop layout that would be great. Pictures are worth many words. Thanks dan
  5. Thanks Jim, that looks great. I am going use that. I assume the grey parts get cut out? I may post this on a different area of the forum and ask some questions. I especialy like the red lines. I already have a copy printed off, of course I will enlarge it with the printer. I will post pictures of progress and finished project. It will take me a very long time since I have other projects going the same time. thans so much dan
  6. I am looking for a fret work pattern for this attachment 1936 4 door Dodge Sedan. This is a long overdue gift for a friend who is restoring one of these cars. I have done very few fret work projects, so I would like to keep it simple. No background in the picture necessary, but I may want to add some text or a Dodge symbol. Overall size approximately 16 in square. Thank you, Dan dodge 2.docx
  7. My first Hegner is the polymax, the saw is on the stand with 1 leg in the front. My second Hegner is the 14" and it has 2 legs in the front. So I called Advance and asked if this was correct and Hans said all Hegners have 2 legs in the front. I am assuming for some reason the previsous user of the polymax had a reason for turnig the stand around. I have no issue with the way either saw is set up. dan
  8. I did the same first modification you and Jim did also on my 14". Since the arm is short, not a lot of height is gained on raising the upper arm. And I tried using the quick clamp on the bottom arm, with a change of some of the clamp holders. I was not real happy with the change, hard to get used to the quick clamp on the bottom, I have a hard enough time using the quick clamp on the top arm. Maybe with a lot of time I may get better/faster at blade changes. This modification may work better on the polymax with a longer arm, but I do not want to saw the casting on this saw.
