  1. Still King of Bling!
  2. The wood looks like a rolling sea! Nice work.
  3. That is very nice!
  4. When my HP bites the dust I'll make the switch.
  5. I miss-read your post. At $29.99 sale price I wonder if they will let me use a 20% off coupon. I suppose not but still a good price. Think I'll get iy. Good to hear the dust port works.
  6. I was in HF yesterday to buy a strap clamp. I gave a casual look at the Bauer but did not realize it was six speed. I'm only 10 minutes away. I would require the gentler speeds. I just checked my cell phone and they are $29.99 until 6/30/19. Gonna check it out again. Thanks Ray!
  7. I've been scrolling for a little less than three years. The first time I tried the MG blades they cut so fast they scared me. However, getting a little more experience my mostly used blades are #1 and 3 MG . Most of my cutting is 1/2" stock and 1/8" and 1/4" plywood.. I have a lot blades I will never use. Occasionally I use #5 or #7 when cutting 3/4" Pine.
  8. You did a great job of it!
  9. It grieves me deeply to realize there are persons more brilliant than I. Right here I would insert a Emoji but somehow it will not let me. However, I perused U Tube and found this neat little video up-grading the Harbor Freight made by this person more brilliant than I. The nail I used are 1-1/4" 18 ga nails I use in my nail gun. I think this guy has a great idea.
  10. Terrific job of cutting a cool pattern!
  11. That cute little fella looks like he's in love!
  12. Most of my friends ride and would love that. Is it your pattern?
  13. You're thinking out of the bix Kevin. You've done a beautiful job!
  14. You did a great job on a difficult pattern. Looks great!
  15. Thanks JT. My blade runs perfectly true on the arbor as tested with a Dial Indicator. Harbor Fright is just 10 minutes from me. At less than $7 and even cheaper with a 20% coupon. Might even get a free flashlight or tape measure of which I have quite a few!
  16. I understand. You are correct as I do not use or have access to hand tools. Thanks for the explanation.
  17. What is a shooting plane?? I use a sled also.
  18. Don in Brooklyn was kind to make this great pattern for me. However I did not do justice cutting it. After cutting it I was disappointed in my wood selection. I just used something I happened to have. Cutting went very well. However, when putting hangers in the backer I broke a portion of the "N" the last letter. Then for some reason a slight warp appeared on the backer so when trying to glue the damaged portion in it would line up . The pattern is great. I'll do it over. Fortunately when I have the pattern copied in red at Office Depot I always make three copies. Good thing. One never knows.
  19. Looks good on that Natural edge!
  20. Thanks Ray. I'll check the Bushton video.
  21. I have been trying to make frames from rough cedar fence stakes as I like the rustic appearance on wildlife and animal cuttings. To begin with the fence stakes are not uniform in thickness as a regular piece of lumber is. I can't plane one side as I have no planer and have no room to put and use one. I made a sled for my table saw which I am convinced is accurate. Everything is aligned with the blade and carefully checked with machinists squares and oversize drafting triangles. Next I use the Craftsman corner clamps. I have had these over 50 years and never doubted their accuracy. Today I checked then for square. Over 3 inches they seem to be off .020 to .025 inches. I did not have my feelers in the shop but comparing it to a micrometer I believe it to be close.I wonder if anyone else uses these clamps and what else do others use? I'm frustrated.
  22. The only thing I don't like about the Hawk is the tension lever at the back. The release at the front works just fine. I purchased a 16VS Hawk a couple of years ago. The previous owner had replaced the lever with a 2" 1/4-20 threaded knob. Not knowing anything about the saw I immediately replaced the knob with the proper wedge and lever. Now, on my 220VS Ultra Hawk I do not use the lever adjuster. The idea is to move it via it's cam action to adjust the blade tension and then rely on the quick release on front to change blades. I find that as I'm scrolling the lever does not remain in place. I have stopped using it. I leave the lever completely forward and set the adjustment by just turning the 1/4-20 rod with my fingers. One set it stays set. I like Hawk's theory with the lever but find it does not work for me. If I am doing something wrong I hope someone will let me know. It is supposed to work but does not for me.
  23. Welcome to the Village Joe. Youngsters are always welcome. I'm 80 :>) This is a great place to learn and share. Jump right in!
  24. I finished these today. My friends love the Umbria font look. I've made quite a few of these using whatever scraps I have. I just give them away.
  25. Great design and cutting.
