  2. Thanks Paul
  3. Had a request for a vinyl with Butterflies to celebrate a 21st birthday so came up with this and as I stack cut 3 I thought I would turn 1 into a clock and the other into a Reggae Butterfly Record
  4. No Dave I have a 24 year old son for that task
  5. Great Signs
  6. Great pieces Thanks for showing us
  7. Very nice piece will be treasured this Christmas for sure
  8. A local charity that helps adults with learning difficulties and also illnesses etc that I work closely with asked for a logo to go above their door so I came up with this for them cut in 6mm ply backed with 12mm ply sprayed blue cut with a Pegas MG #5 and materials retrieved from a skip (dumpster)
  9. Thanks Wayne
  10. I will let you know Wayne when I try one I will try both to see what happens unless of course someone here has already tried it and knows then please say it may save me cutting up my wife`s best Abba CD and live in concert DVD
  11. Great job Wayne where was the pattern from please
  12. Not yet Wayne but now you have mentioned it I will have to try it
  13. Great use of a cut out Rob
  14. Lovely job great choice of woods too Thanks for showing us
  15. I leave some as they are and spray the backer a different colour to allow it to stand out and some I spray with pound shop cans no expense spared here Len
  16. Thank you Kevin it is nice to get positive comments from yourself and others on here on the vinyl pieces I cut, I know some do not like them as it is not wood but I like to try cutting different things as I learn more and I always leave some saw dust on my floor to remind me to go back to wood
  17. Yes Len they either sell the ones I give back or they keep for summer raffle christmas raffle etc I also give some of my pieces to another charity that sells in a local market and the proceeds go to funding the soup kitchen for the homeless, I hand most of mine over to others but I do sell the requests that brings in the funds needed for materials etc to allow me to give the rest to the charities I like to help out.
  18. I do Spirithorse and I simply use another vinyl record already the size I need why not I say I tend to go through my albums I have and use the thicker ones for the cuts and the thinner as the backers .
  19. I use either the flat ends are easier to load obviously but the others on first use I tend to put in the clamp slightly tweak it to straighten then in a little more tweak until all way in this for me seems to straighten the top enough to be able to place in clamp easy each time after that . I know olsen do a flat end spiral because I have some #4 not sure of other sizes because as I said I use either some one else may have more info for you who reads this, good find on the saw thought with 300+ blades in with it
  20. I would of thought you could use any size blade if you sandwich the vinyl between wood I have not tried that with vinyl yet but I have done as you have with plexiglass so should also work with vinyl not sure whether the cut line would melt back in on the vinyl though that may be an issue with a normal blade I know someone else who gave it a go on vinyl with a spiral had trouble with the cut line melting back in and had a job of cleaning up after I have only had that happen a few times and always when it is a small slow cutting part the faster I cut the less it happens on vinyl but I am going to give the sandwich a go see what happens and if nothing else I will end up with 2 pictures in wood even if the vinyl in the middle fails
  21. That would work Ralph I would of thought I will try that next time see what happens but cannot see any reason why that would not stop it chipping the vinyl
  22. Great job Kevin
  23. Nice job
