  1. As promised, here it is. Somehow I think designing a pattern like this would be far easier than cutting it. You may want to go large.
  2. currently working on one for you but it's on my work computer. Might get it finished tomorrow. I used a different image.
  3. Just out of curiosity, how big was it?
  4. Here is my attempt at capturing his image. It's difficult when they have a lot of facial hair.
  5. Here's another one for you.
  6. I did one for my wedding a short while ago but I can't remember where the plan came from. I think I might have found it on pinterest. It had animal images in the middle sections so i just swapped them out for others. These pictures aren't the best but you get the idea.
  7. Here's one I've been toying with in between work commitments. Had to make some changes.
  8. I've been playing around with this idea on and off all day and it's going nowhere fast. No matter how you put this image, and many others I'd imagine, on a curve it's gonna look ugly. Found this online, which you may have seen, and thought maybe you'd be better of trying this.
  9. You might be better off creating a bezier curve and wrapping the cityscape around that. Then overlay that onto the LP. When you get to the opposite of the curve just double click to end it, don't join back to the start or it becomes another edge. Have fun with whatever you are trying to do.
  10. This is the result I got of adding your city scape to a circular path in Inkscape.
  11. What the ? I could watch it 100 times and still not figure it out.
  12. I suppose someone could be labelled a master if they were to be highly skilled in every area of the hobby. There are so many different areas of scrolling and a lot of people, I'd imagine, don't get to try a lot of them. I've been cutting for 10 years now and only do Fret and Segmentation and Pattern designing. I've never tried Intarsia, Coin Cutting, Mother of Pearl, Model Building, Vinyl Records or any of the other things you could do with a saw, and I probably never will. Teaching others would also fall into the category, I'm still learning. I also suppose you could be labelled as a master if you wanted to be as long as there is no-one around who is better. Anyway, Scroller sounds better than Master.
  13. I just googled the problem you are having and gave it a go, you won't like the outcome. You can find the answer here: https://graphicdesign.stackexchange.com/questions/28763/how-to-create-a-rounded-wave-rectangle-like-this-on-inkscape. I have heard of records being cut with the scroll saw but I would imagine you would need to place it between 2 sheets of ply or mdf, to stop it breaking. You would also want to slow the saw right down and use a fine blade. Placing the pattern on the LP in a straight line across the top would probably be the better option, low enough down so you get it all in and leave the bottom intact. Good luck no matter which way you choose.
  14. Not being overly sure what you wanted I ended up going a different way.
  15. Here's my shot a this. It probably should be better but there's so much going on here I'm losing my mojo, as it were.
  16. You may want to also try home made stain or things that aren't normally for that purpose. Black shoe polish is supposedly good but I haven't tried that yet. Vinegar and steel wool make a good graying agent, something to do with the tannin's in the wood. Coffee, Tea or anything else that would normally stain other things, especially food dye. Personally I go for Feast Watson wood stain. They have a good range of wood shades and it's not overly expensive. Not sure if you get it in the USA though.
  17. Here's my attempt. Hope you like it.
  18. Here's another one. I might have went a bit over board but that's what I do.
  19. You've certainly done a lot of stuff David.
  20. Someone getting in early for this year.
  21. Don't really do many cars. Should have chosen a better picture as well. I like the way it turned out but I would prefer something with a bit more shadow and less lines. Hope you like it.
  22. With mine, I have created an image that I copy and paste. All I have done is overlayed my name onto an outline of Australia, made it about the size of an icon, or a bit bigger and removed the white back ground. Save it as a PNG with transparency. This allows me to overlay it onto any pattern by using layers. The best thing to do first is create your signature.
  23. Here's another version for you to choose from with a little bit of detail. Hope you like it.
  24. Perhaps it is the browser you are using.
  25. I haven't been married all that long so I'm not really at this point but I'm sure it will come.
