I just want to thank everyone for the nice welcome and as soon as I finish my projects I will post some pictures. I did get my saw and I placed it on a Husky rolling tool cabinet and it works great. I'm now trying to work with some wood dyes to get different results. Have a great day and stay dry.

The nice thing about this set up is I can stand or I have a stool that allows me to sit & I have the best of both world. You know sitting too long is not good for the body. Rod

I attached a picture of my new Dewalt 788. I had purchased the Dewalt stand but I was not too happy with it so I purchased a Husky 4 Drawer tool cabinet from Home Depot and additionally purchased the wood top. I secured my Dewalt to the wood top and bingo bango there you have it. All works great and I can keep my other tools, sand paper and what ever else I want in the drawers. By the way I got the Husky and wood top for a total of $75.00 I got the discount because they only had one key and there was a small scratch on the side of the cabinet.

Hello everyone; I would like to start doing Intarsia but I'm retired & funds are limited so buying different woods can get to be expensive. I was wondering if you would recommend dyes or stain to achieve the different wood look. Any suggestions are welcome. Thank You, Rod

Hi Solo; I just got my new Dewalt also and I have been searching high & low for blades. I came across a video on You Tube and I wrote down this chart for blades. #2 blade for 1/4" soft wood, #5 blade for 3/4" soft wood, #7 blade for 3/4-1" hardwood, #9 blade for 1 1/2-2 1/2" hardwood and #12 blade for straight cuts/rips. I hope this helps and hopefully this is accurate. Rod

Hi; I just bought a Dewalt and I love the scroll saw. My old one is a Craftsman which I'm keeping and will use it to sand the tight spots on my projects. My tension is at about 3.5 and that seems fine for me.

Just want to say Thank You to all for the welcome, I hope to get my Dewalt in a couple of day and so in the meantime I will use my Craftsman. I may keep the Craftsman and see if I can use sand paper strips to be able to sand those hard to sand areas on my projects. Thanks again, Rod

Good evening. I'm retired and have done some minor scroll sawing on my Craftsman Scroll Saw. I'm currently in the market for an upgrade. I am looking at Dewalt, Delta & Excalibur. Still not sure which one to get. Any recommendations? Thank You, Rod
