  1. Cheers all, shame the video doesn't work
  2. Been thinking about doing something like this for a while so made a prototype on the weekend, pallet wood backing and frame, clear acrylic sheet and a controllable LED battery powered strip light...short vid of it working on my instagram... https://www.instagram.com/p/BUEwpV_lPeh/?taken-by=thepopela&hl=en
  3. cool, i like that!
  4. Perfect chair for that, just need something to put your beer on
  5. Cheers fella, no i don't biscuit joint them, i glue and screw the Upper and lowers together then clamp and glue the boards together. Seems very solid. Good thinking though i may biscuit joint them in the future for further strength.
  6. Cheers all! They seat much better than they look! more of a recliner type chair. i have added a thin foam cushion to mine and its now my chair of choice in the garden, i love them.
  7. Very nice, do you have a link to the free plans you used? I may have to have a go at making something similar.
  8. Been enjoying making these chairs lately, nice project for a beginner, couldn't use my scroll saw though as the boards are too thick and long to fit so cut the skull with a jig saw.
  9. Thanks all, I agree about the setting, i always take a few pics in different positions /angles then just delete the ones i dont want. Easy these days with camera phones
  10. The parents in law have just moved into a new house, so i did this on the weekend as a moving in present...
  11. Thanks again all. Yeah, i make up 2 same size "wooden canvases" and stain one with a light stain and one with a darker stain which makes a nice contrast and usually flip the bottom one 90 degrees. Cant really see it on the photos i posted. This is a Wales flag i did to show what i mean. Didnt flip this 90 degrees though as i liked how the grain went with the dragon.
  12. Burnt then stained (y) i use a little handheld blowtorch which was a few quid on ebay.
  13. Thanks chaps, appreciate the replys.
  14. Still early days but quite pleased with how these have turned out. All made from reclaimed pallet wood.
