  1. Thank you so much Don! This isn't the first time you have rescued me. That is exactly what I was looking for!
  2. A few year ago I watched on youtube some videos on how to make a family name sign. It had the last name and then the first name of each family member was cut into the last name. I had a request to make another one of these signs and I can't seem to find this video to help me design it anywhere. If anyone has any tutorials on this I would appreciate any help! I believe you had to offset the font and then you were able to union it or something along that line. I attached a picture to help show what I am looking for. If anyone has a video or step by step instructions of how to go about creating this pattern I would love to hear from you. It's been six years since I created this pattern and I just don't remember how I did it!
  3. Not the best picture but an Easter cross I recently completed. I believe it was a Sue Mey pattern I used.
  4. My niece is getting ready to celebrate her First Communion this Spring. I would like to make a special piece to commemorate this occasion. Does anyone have a nice First Communion pattern or a good place to find one? I have found 3 on Sue Mey's site but just wanting to see some other options before I decide. Thanks for any help!
  5. Hey everybody, I have a customer looking for a donkey head cutting. I have done some research but so far nothing. Does anyone know where I can get a pattern for a donkey head or seen one before? any help would be greatly appreciated!
  6. I have a customer who has asked me to design a silhouette of a sports car. The car will be designed in 5 pieces so that when it is hung you will see the car as well as the word for the type of car. I have attached the pattern below. They want the car cut from 1" material and they want to hang it approximately 1/2" off the wall. Is there a special hanger system to use that will allow me to have the 1/2" distance available? Everything I have ever done before I use sawtooth hangers or a wire hanging system (for signs an picture frames). I don't have any idea how to make something stick out from the wall. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
  7. Thank you for the information. I will be sure to check out these sites in the future when I have questions. Sorry I didn't see this sooner. My grandpa's health took a turn for the worst and he passed away on the 17th and I just haven't been active on this site. Been busy with other things.
  8. Thanks so much Don. You were the one who correctly identified my last font question a few months ago and was hoping you would see this post. I really appreciate your help!
  9. Hi everyone! A few months ago I needed help identifying a font and you guys came through and nailed it! I appreciated it very much! I recently got another request from someone asking if I could make a sign for them with the saying below on it. I was hoping someone could help me figure out the font and then I can work on developing a pattern. I normally use Inkscape. Thanks for any help you can provide. P.S. I tried to enlarge it but it was way to grainy to ever try and cut accurately.
  10. I had forgot that a couple of you who helped me find the font I needed asked to see the finished project. It is pictured below. It was a real hit and I have received 4 orders from people who were at the wedding and saw this sign!
  11. Thanks so much! I'll see if I remember how to download from there. Been awhile!
  12. Thanks for offering to help me. I’m attempting to make a plaque similar to the one below. I’m needing the name Pannell.
  13. I just got a request for a wedding sign. On this sign I will need to cut the couples name out and they would like a cursive font. I need help in finding a good cursive font to scroll. It can be challenging that's not a problem. What are your favorite fonts for cursive work?
  14. The pastor at our church asked me if I could design an Alleluia banner for our Easter service. This is what I came up with. I designed the pattern using Inkscape and cut it on my DeWalt scroll saw. It measures 19" x 19" and was cut from 1/4" oak plywood. I put a 1/4" birch backer behind it that I painted black. It was a hit when we unveiled it Sunday morning!
  15. Thanks for trying. I knew it would take a miracle!
  16. I had a lady ask me if I could make a portrait pattern from the picture attached. I don’t have the skills to make these types of patterns so I was going to try here. I know the picture is very dark but it was the best she had. Can anyone work some magic with this request? Thanks for reading/trying!

    Fire truck

The original was designed by Sue Mey. It was originally designed for a clock insert. I did some customizing to the original and added the names.
  18. I had a lady ask me to come up with a fire truck and attach her kids names on the bottom. This is what I came up with. She was very excited!
  19. So glad to hear you were able to spend time together. I have so many fond memories of projects with my grandparents. When I was that age I spent more time at there house than mine in the summer tinkering on projects. Weather woodworking, lawn work, gardening, hunting, fishing, exploring in the woods.... Special times! I imagine he will never forget this quality time together and he will always have a unique project to stir up those memories of you!
  20. Thanks Dan! That didn't totally solve my problem but I learned something new and it helped me.
  21. Sorry fort was a typo. It should say font. For instance I am spelling the word Erin. The upper right corner is rounded on my upper case E. I would like the corner to be sharp and squared. Can I do that somehow? Thanks!
  22. Hi I am new to Inkscape. Never even heard of it until last week. I have been working my way through the videos that Travis made. In the meantime I am trying to create a word art piece. The corners of the fort are slightly rounded on the tops. Is there a way I can simply make the corners sharp instead of rounded. I have been messing around with the nodes but can't get a sharp corner. I hope this question makes sense and someone can help me. I am ready to pull my hair out. P.S. I have some Auto Cad experience, high school 18 years ago, and remember being able to extend lines and trim them. Is there something like that I am overlooking.
  23. Thank you to each person who took time to draw up a pattern for me. I really appreciate it!
  24. Thanks so much for designing these patterns. I appreciate it! Unfortunately I failed to mention they don’t want them on a base. That’s why I’m having so much trouble figuring out how to connect the letters together. Sorry I forgot to mention that. I updated my post. Thanks again!
  25. Here’s one I did. I got the pattern from Scroller. The item #moe70 or just type in take time to pray.
