  1. Hello again, Has anyone had any dealings with these people? I have sent 2 messages to them and have been completely ignored. How very discourteous and rude. I know on their website they say shipping to USA only. I was hoping for a reply and a small piece of advice on where to go next. Here in the UK we can only buy the complete quick release unit. With postage around $30. On the Advanced Technology website they sell just the swivel tips (with o rings) for $7.95. HQK03. I recently had one of the swivels break. Too far in to be able to get the bits out. I tried drilling from the other end to push the bits out. No way. Far too hard. Don’t suppose anyone knows of an outlet over there who sells them and are willing to ship to UK? I would be quite prepared to buy a few of them “just in case “
  2. Now that is my type of project. Wonderful.
  3. Just finished another one of grampa’s patterns. Thanks again Grampa. You will guess I am into “nature” 1/4” BB with #2 Niqua blade. Amazingkevin.....should this be in bragging rights or am I ok posting here?
  4. Here is my version of Grampa’s RAMBO. Hope I have done it justice. Thanks for the pattern Grampa.
  5. Thanks very much for all the best wishes. Slowly getting back into it. i have just started a Grampa pattern of RAMBO. Thanks Grampa. We have a dog looks just like that. Called Boots. will put up a picture when done.
  6. Hello everyone, Been a long time since I posted here. Hence the title. On New Year's Eve, of all days, I had a heart attack! Bit of a surprise, I thought, for my age, I was reasonably fit. Obviously not! Back now sticking my nose into the forum posts. I have taken the liberty of looking on the pattern section and downloading one or two. Thank you to all I have taken one from. I am about ready to start terrorising some wood again. I will put up a picture when I get something worth showing. Regards to you all. Happy belated New Year. Barry.
  7. Lovely pattern. Cut well. Scorched frame really sets it off. I really do like nature. Have done a very small deer pattern box from Steve Good. Also done an owl, posted earlier. Now in the middle of another owl, Alex Fox pattern. Will show when completed.
  8. And this is intarsia???? Not quite up to that standard yet, but hope to be soon.
  9. Collected this afternoon, over the moon with it. Got to be doing something right.
  10. Such a sad story. Look after each other.
  11. Made this some weeks ago as a trial. Just plain old pine. Have been told the eyes are too “staring”
  12. Just look at those piercing eyes. Lovely job.
  13. That’s marvellous. Beautiful piece.
  14. They really are majestic creatures. Such a pity they are constantly hunted!
  15. I was at a 2 day craft fair last weekend. ”have you got a lion?” No, but I can get a pattern! I printed it off at the end of the day. Gave the lady the copy the following day. Rang me Monday, “yes please” just need to make a frame. Steve Good pattern. 1/4” ply, satin black backer.
  16. Thanks for all the replies. It is amazing how patterns like this are designed. Way above my head. i have another one of Charles patterns but that is a 340 cut one. Need to recover from this one before I start that.
  17. It took me about 4 days to complete. I did about 4 hours at a time and then went onto something else. It was a bit nerve wracking getting towards the end. The whole piece was getting very fragile. Made the frame this morning. Used about 10 Niqua #1 blades. Only used the Niqua’s for the whole project. Had not used #1 blades before but went really well.
  18. Wilson142 I have just covered it with BLO. The backer board is satin black.
  19. Octoolguy, Now I see it! Yes my grub screw was slightly recessed. Fixed now. picture taken in sunlight so there are two “blades” but this will give you the idea. Thanks for all the help. On to my next pattern.
  20. Amazing Kevin, Thanks for putting me right. Picture I mean. Ha ha.
  21. I wish someone could explain to me why it came out sideways. It IS upright on my laptop.
  22. Hello all, just finished this pattern. Now this really did test me. It is a Charles Hand pattern. Thank you Charles, I hope I have done it justice. Should have said it is larger than the suggested size. Coming in at 24” x 19” 1/4” plywood.
  23. Hi fredfret, I am using a Hegner quick release clamp. Grub screw one side and tightening screw the other side. Are you meaning the grub screw needs to be adjusted? There is not too much room in the slot which takes the blade. If the grub screw is too far in that will leave very little room for the blade.
  24. Yea but........... Just asking! Ha ha
  25. Good evening, Can anyone explain why, after a few cuts, my blade looks like a hockey stick at the top (quick release) end? Thanks.
