  1. FrankEV………I use a lot of reclaimed pallet wood for my frames. I scorch and then varnish! Cheap too!
  2. I don’t post on here as much as I should but I am really sorry to hear this news. On the occasions that I have asked questions here Rockytime has always tried to help. Thank you and rest peacefully now.
  3. Looks like the sort of stuff Malcom Tibet’s does
  4. I too use a “deadman” type switch on my Hegner. Much easier than trying to fiddle about under the table to find the switch.
  5. Absolutely fantastic. Thanks for showing.
  6. I took the plunge today..... I measured the top clamp height 4” I removed the rubber bump stop and cut off the “boss” Tried to drill a new mounting hole and broke the first drill bit. Not messing with that! I fired up the 3D printer and printed a cylindrical piece 1/2” across and 1/4” high. Glued that to the upright about 1/2” below where the original was. I now have 6” height from table to top clamp. Will give that a try for a few days. I have tried TOP feeding but just can’t get on with it.
  7. To all you very helpful people who have been watching this thread. My order of DeWalt thumb screws arrived this morning. Guess what ........they fit my Hegner. A VERY big thank you to all of you who have helped. Lock this information into your memory banks. DeWalt blade clamps with the swivel pin fit Hegner scrollsaws.
  8. Octoolguy, I have no problem with you contacting Wolfgang ref. my problem. It could quite well help other people down the line to be able to contact. I will wait till the DeWalt screw arrives to see if it works before committing to any others. Thanks for your offer anyway. Interested to know what Wolfgang thinks about it. [email protected]
  9. Octoolguy, Just replied to kmmcrafts. Ordered a DeWalt screw. Will see when it arrives if it fits. Thanks.
  10. Thanks kmmcrafts, Just ordered one. Post is slower due to this virus but will certainly let you know if they fit when it arrives. Had never heard of these people. You are a star, as are all the people on this site. THANKS.
  11. Hi kmmcrafts, just clicked the link to mm tool parts. Access from your country was disabled by the administrator. As for ringing people over there, the cost of the call would be prohibitive. Far more than the cost of the part.
  12. OK. I am calling time on this one. Neither Advanced Machinery and Seyco have had the decency to reply. I don’t care much for their business acumen. Surely a sale is a sale? I am contemplating getting my mini metal lathe out and trying to make one. How difficult can it be. I have anew one for reference. Just need to find some small o rings. Wish me luck!
  13. Octoolguy and kmmcrafts, There is nothing in my spam folder. I sent Wolfgang a message which he would have got this morning. waiting now to see if he replies. Wish I had never decided to try to get spares.
  14. Hello Octoolguy, Yes that is the email address I used, still not had a reply. If they don’t want to talk to me, PLEASE, tell me then I will go away. Wondering if I should go through Gmail because it is obvious their contact page isn’t working. Still no response from Seyco either. What is the matter with these people?
  15. Hi Rolf, Thread sizes don’t come into it. These are a push fit with 2 small o rings.
  16. Octoolguy, Message gone......watch this space. BUT don’t hold your breath you may go a funny colour.
  17. Octoolguy, I really do appreciate what you have done for me. When I sent my messages through the “contact us” page the address was to Wolfgang but I wouldn’t specify names for obvious reasons. Didn’t want to tread on toes and appear to be spoiling for a battle. It would seem that their internal contact was not working. I will re-message him and see how we go. Just out of interest, no reply from Seyco yet either.
  18. Thanks for the info. Now I know what to look for if I have another one break. Must say the help on this site is fantastic. Always an answer out there somewhere.
  19. Am I right in thinking this bump stop is the small boss with a rubber ring around it? Just how much extra height does removing it give you?
  20. Hello again, kmmcrafts...did you manage to find time to check the measurements of the pins you have got? thanks
  21. Hello kmmcrafts, I have already spoken to Hegner uk. It was them who told me that they only sell the complete quick release. Thanks very much for your offer. I did though have to bite the bullet and buy a new clamp so I am not in a state of full stop. The reason I was enquiring about the swivels was to get some in stock in case this happened again. The shaft size is 0.107” then of course there is the recess for the o rings. Might be interesting to see if they are the same size as on the Seyco site. Then if it happens again I will have an alternative to aim for. Once again I really appreciate your offer but am ok at the moment. Barry.
  22. Hi Octoolguy, The site you sent the link to is the one I have messaged twice with no reply. I have sent a message to Seyco through their “contact us” page. Not heard anything from them yet either.
  23. Unfortunately I can’t speak or understand German! I have been on their website and am lost. Can’t navigate to anywhere because of the language. I have sent a message to Ray through their contact us page. Will wait and see if I get any response. (Seyco)
  24. Thanks Octoolguy, Just looked on their site and they sell what looks to be the same thing. Will send them a message.
  25. Sorry, yes, advanced machinery. Octoolguy, in my post I stated “quick release unit” should have said quick release clamp. The swivel tip I am talking about screws into the clamp knob. (Hegner UK call them bearings) why I have no idea. If you go to advanced machinery web site and enter HQK 03 you will see a picture of what I am talking about.
