  1. Scott, that is most of what Alex sent me about an hour ago. Nothing else to add at this time. I would think the next on the list would be to take Odesa. Shutting off Ukraine from all seaports would be even worse.
  2. I've bought 3-4 more Alex patterns last day or two. Told him that I hope he can still get paid. Just got a message from Alex about an hour ago...sounds like things are going downhill fast in his neighborhood (Kherson). It's getting late over there so I probably won't hear anything till tomorrow. I pray for the safety of him and his family. Hi, The Russians occupied Kherson and entered the city, including heavy equipment (tanks, armored personnel carriers). All entrances and exits in the city are blocked, during the last shelling, some rockets hit residential buildings, I don’t know if there were casualties. There was a fire in the largest mall in Kherson (I don’t know whether it was arson or a rocket hit), but when the fire truck arrived, they fired at it, the firemen managed to escape. In general, the situation is very complicated.
  3. Alex sent another message. Now there is a curfew, civilians cannot leave their homes from 8 pm to 6 am, there is no military equipment in the town, but I saw patrols.
  4. I just got a message from Alex. He and his family are still safe...for now. "Hi, the situation is the same (explosions and shots are heard outside the town), the neighboring village of Antonovka was evacuated to our town. Kherson airport was captured, Chernobaevka (a village near the airport) is planned to be evacuated too. Yesterday I went out and bought some groceries, essentials. Today pharmacies were opened for several hours, I bought basic medicines. Products are quickly sold out, there are very long queues everywhere. Bread, cereals, pasta, sugar, salt, flour are nowhere to be found. Just a 10 minutes ago there was an air raid alert. " I pray that they escape the carnage happening in other parts of the country. But I fear it will be a while before things quiet down over there. I'll keep you guys updated as I hear from him.
  5. I do not know Anatoly but hope he and family are safe. He looks to be around the next bridge upriver from Kherson. Just heard from Alex a few minutes ago. He said the Russians broke through the defenses of Kherson and took the bridge but did not enter the city. They went further to Nikolaev, although the translation may actually be Mykolaiv. Anyway, he and his family are safe for the moment, it's quiet now and about midnight.
  6. Just got a message from Alex. As many of us use his patterns, I'll post it. Things getting real there. "Hi, I am from Kherson town (center of Kherson region), this region borders with Crimea. Russian militaries already crossed the border and occupied nearest to border towns. Some time ago I heard explosions - my friends who live in the suburbs of Kherson town say that now is fighting at the entrance to the town. I am really scared."
  7. I'm sure there are...and I hope they are all alright and as unaffected as possible. I mentioned Alex as he's the only one I've interacted with in that area. I like and have made several of his small jewelry box design, my wife grabbed the first one.
  8. I've been thinking of Alex Fox in the last few days and weeks. I've tried to contact him to see if he's OK, but no response so far. Has anyone heard from him in the last day or so? He's in Kherson Ukraine I believe, unless he's moved, and I think Russian forces have moved through there in the last few hours.
  9. No Halloween stuff this year. Here is something I made a couple of years ago.
  10. That's beautiful Paul! You've outdone yourself.
  11. I can't find my blades after the move. The holder and blades are lost in a box somewhere. I have an extra holder I got in a swap. Is this the blade tubes that fit in the Steve Goode holders? https://tinyurl.com/madx7sss Never found the power cord...but got one at WalMart. Stock was getting low and was going to order blades anyway. I did find the foot switch today! YEA! I hate moving!
  12. We also had a Cardinal at one time, but a 40 footer. It was a great 5th wheel! That was 3 RVs ago...lol. We just sold the last one, a 36 ft. Keystone Sprinter. I believe that's the best size if you're going to travel as you can get into state and national parks that you can't with 40 ft. We even looked into a 40-44 ft. toy hauler, I was going to build a wood shop in the "garage" , and travel around doing shows. But we love the Rio Grande Valley and we have a bunch of friends here. I do 12 shows a month during "season" from November through March and a few car shows extra. I figure 62-65 shows a year is enough!
  13. That's what I did Kevin. I changed to the Pegas chuck, from Denny, fairly soon and kept all the original pieces. Have never needed them...but they are somewhere in a box LOL.
  14. Al Baggetta pattern.
  15. Awesome job Brenda! Both are really nice. I'll bet I could sell those at my upcoming shows, where did the patterns come from?
