  2. Looks very cool...great work!
  3. Thanks for all the compliments I really enjoyed making this piece.
  4. Yes you read that correctly...this table is made from a piece of oak that naturally formed with the mouth, eye, eye lid and snout just as you see it in the first picture. I know because I milled it myself Strangely enough out of the 10 or so slabs from that log, this is the only one that looks like this. Oh even the crack for the eye was naturally formed. What are the odds? Anyway...I made the teeth feom holly...tinted some epoxy black for the eye...found a suitable root base for it and had a 1/2" piece of glass cut to fit. Enjoy!
  5. Havent posted anything in a bit so figured I would put this one up...body is basswood...spots are mahogany and yes they are all removable!
  6. Just figured I would let folks know that I entered this puzzle along with several others in the best design contest on scrollsawer.com and this particular puzzle won editors choice award and is now on tgeir website for public voting which ends in a couple days. If you get a chance go check out the projects that were submitted...there is some pretty nice stuff

Enjoy

  17. Russ, it is my design I have a few more i will post soon. Travis i started using multiple types of wood when i made a hummingbird puzzle i had found in a magazine. The magazine showed it cut from cherry i think but my first thought when i saw it was to make it from different types of wood so i did. Little did i realize how much of a difference having all the different colors would make. I went to a few craft shows over this past silly season with that hummingbird puzzle and i couldnt keep the thing on my table. One guy bought 3 of them lol...pic of one is attached...i have since changed them even more...mixing in poplar, zebrawood, purple heart, pauduk, ash, birds eye maple...whatever im feeling at the time...enjoy !
  18. I have to admit im really enjoying creating my own puzzles The fish is pauduk and ash and the coral is purple heart
  19. Designed and cut this over the weekend. Frog is quarter sawn white oak with pauduk eyes and feet...the leaf is poplar...enjoy !
  20. Those are made with a scrollsaw cut seperate segments and glue them up...shape as u get to certain points of assembly (or u cant get to inside areas later)
  21. Those are very cool...love the bright colors and the way they're mixed....nice work!
  22. Figured i would take a shot at making a shell or 2...made my first one out of pine...then another from pine and stained it and made a 3rd from poplar...i currently have one about half done that is made of black walnut and have plans to make one from red cedar and another of pauduk. Wasnt thrilled with the stained pine shell but it was an experiement anyway...I really like the poplar shell...pretty interesting look to it i thought. Enjoy !
  23. Only place there is glue is in the stand where there are 2 peg inserts which are glued into the base...there 2 small holes in the bottom of the 2 feet of the mammoth so the whole beast lifts right off.
  24. Made this of 1" mahogany...tusk and base are curly maple...
