  1. Where I work honors the graduates who work there. This year we had 8. So I made 8 of these keepsake ornaments so each graduate has one.
  2. These are ornaments I made for the Festival of the Trees in Indianapolis. Our woodworking group will decorate a tree with scrolled, carved, and turned ornaments made by us. This event features over 70 trees, and is located at the Indiana Historical Society. This is a fund raiser for the Salvation Army. After the event, the ornaments will be sold.
  3. This vase (pattern by Steve Good) was part of the meeting of the Scrollers Chapter of the Central Indiana Woodworkers. We used the flower pattern to test how polymer clays could enhance our scrolled projects. Other items, like keychains, could be use for clays. We learned the clay is very hard after it is baked. The best way is to insert the clay is from the back of the item and push it into the hole. We got a used toaster oven from Good Will that is used only for baking clays. Plus when pushing the clay in, we used a stone below the item to prevent any chemicals from the clay to leach out. You will notice, there is a slight bulge on the material after it is baked.
  4. I made these from the kit to be send to friends, instead of Christmas cards this year. I added a backer which is stained darker. The backer grain goes vertically, and cutout grain goes horizontally. They are made from RevolutionPly that I get at Lowes. It is intended as underlayment for floors, but works well for this and does not cost that much.
  5. A couple of years ago, I had a stroke, resulting in loss of speech and some minor paralysis on my right side. One thing to be thankful for is using the scroll saw to improve my paralysis. The scroll saw was great therapy. This plaque was designed by me and cut on my scroll sawis made to express my feelings on being stroke survivor.. The walnut stick figure is split him into 2 pieces. It is like a puzzle where you are putting the puzzle pieces back together again. My speech is coming back, so it's back to my YouTube channel to cover various topics in this wide world of scrolling on my channel. So, I am very thankful to be a stroke survivor, who is getting many of the pieces back together and to also be a scroller which improves my coordination and allows me to express myself!
  6. I have made a YouTube video covering the many changes I have done to my 5 scrollsaws to make myself and my students have a better scrolling experience. I hope that you can use a few of the changes on your saws, Video is at: https://youtu.be/bLLZKYoQt08
  7. I am an instructor for the Scroll Saw Chapter of Central Indiana Woodworkers (our chapter has 25 members). CIWW has about 225 members and before Covid we typically had 125 members in attendance. We are looking for a presenter for our club to do a meeting here in Indianapolis later on this year, or perhaps a virtual presentation before then. Our website is CIWW.org. I would like to get in touch with Steve Good or someone with his ability to teach to discuss this. Any ideas? It would probably need to be a presentation that would interest to non scrolling members of CIWW to further increase their interest in scrolling. Thanks!
  8. This is a short video (1 1/2 minutes) about making my lumber rack as seen in my shop tour video. The rack is getting filled with 1/4 inch tiger maple, just waiting to get scrollsawed. Link is
  9. Just picked up my entry into Rockler's "Adventures in Wood" contest. I did not win. The wordart is made from purpleheart and the cross from red oak. The purpleheart lettering is very fragile.
  10. I keep them in a file on main computer, with sub files (like plaques). Every so often I copy it to flash drive for back up. I print from digital when needed
