  1. I like them, Allen.
  2. Hi Jay and welcome from the same shore of the ocean (more or less).
  3. I don't use my Pegas 30" 5 hours a day (heavy load, I must say), but for the moment being it works like a charm. I hope it goes on like this for a long, long time.
  4. Thanks for this post. I find it really interesting as a new scroller.
  5. I think that the ceramic guides are more a marketing trick than anything else. Every producer needs to "make up" something new so they sell their machines. I am not saying they are bad, but maybe not as good as they praise. It might be more than possible that classical bearings (in fact, the ones that big machines have) will do, at least, as good as these. And if thus... why then spending a couple of hundreds in the carter ones.
  6. I am planning on buying a Laguna and I like doing quite a lot of research before. For what I have heard/read, the Carter are better guides than the ceramic ones. But I don't know if it worths the investment. Probably it depends on what is going to be your normal use (resawing?). Sparking on the ceramic ones seem to be an issue, but as John said, the right set up would make the trick. Let us know if you change them and how much it improved the work.
  7. Welcome from Southern Europe! Don't hesitate to ask. It's the perfect place to learn about scrollsawing.
  8. Welcome from Southern Europe!
  9. Welcome and congrats on the price!! Just 5$...
  10. I did not understand very well how did you do the bending? Do you have some pictures of the process?
  11. They work also well at the Pégas out of the box. No need to nip anything.
  12. Thanks, after reading your comments, I think that it's not for me yet. But I will keep the instructions for later on.
  13. Wow... Just curious to know how are they done on the scroll saw? Any tutorial available?
  14. Welcome from Southern Europe. I also use most of my wood from the nearby forests, but unfortunately I don't have such a variety of woods, most of it is red pine and oak, and some maple too, but I am quite happy with it.
  15. Welcome from the land of Catalans!
