  3. Hello, I need a new magnifying glass. I looked on here to see if there were any recent reviews or suggestions on which one is good one. The one on Seyco is really expensive and the light don’t look that great. I did watch this video and it looks like a great option. https://youtu.be/WA4S4XTTdqg?si=HmKKRxPkDVrNkrjQ but I did see one with a 12x magnifier but not sure if I need one that strong. Has anyone bought one recently and could recommend? Thanks
  4. Yep waiting for the Pegas clamp to come in the mail with other parts
  5. Thanks guys . I think I am going to tear it down and rebuild it.
  6. Yep already tried that on the thumb screw I have many many years and hours on it so could greatly benefit with a rebuild.
  7. LOL no I did not buy it …….I ended up buying a EX 21 and wore that out . Now I am on the fence of dropping $400 dollars or just buying a new grizzly. Yes I changed my screen name from Kardar2 to Ohio piper LOL see my last post on re building a EX 21 LOL
  8. Hello, I have a EX 21 and it has been sitting for a few years now. The on/off switch quit working when I was using it and I bypassed the switch and used a dead man’s switch ( pedal) to operate it. Anyways since I moved to Ohio I don’t have my old bench stand that I had in California. So I am wanting to get back into scroll sawing and I see Grizzly has a new saw out and it looks like a Excalibur LOL probably made in the same factory. I was thinking of tearing down my EX 21 but not sure if I am up to the task. A lot tiny pieces. So I was thinking of sending it to Seyco to have them rebuild it for me not sure if that is an option. I might be able to sell it on FB marketplace and maybe get $100 out of it. It still runs okay but I know it needs a new head on it the blade keeps slipping and the on/ off switch needs to be replaced. I imagine there might be some worn bearings/ bushings but I really don’t know. I don’t even know really even know what to look for. So what would you guys suggest I should do. I did see one guys video of replacing the arms. But that was it. I wish there was a real comprehensive on a complete tear down to follow. Thanks in advance for the advice.
  9. Good luck on a speedy recovery Steve
  10. Yep I have a basement but heater and A/c is down there so I worried about the dust getting sucked into the return air filter. I we are planning on moving to Columbus OHio next year so I will differently be adding the scroll saw factor into the layout in my future house
  11. I used to live in California and scrolling in the winter was not an issue. But now I live in Ohio and I am wondering where I am going to set up my saw. It makes so much dust. I think I might have to buy a good quality shed and insulate it and run power to it so I can have heat. What do you guys do in the the colder climate? Just curious
  12. Well if you seen my thread in introduction it has need a long time for me since I used my scroll saw. The wife and I started doing stained glass and having a lot of fun learning about it. Now I am wanting to incorporate stained glass with scroll saw project. So this will be interesting. I think it will just be a sheet of glass not an actual stained glass project. Using a sheet of glass behind a scrolled out project and mount it on a chain for a window. I don’t think I have ever seen anyone try that. So I am looking forward of trying that. You can make a box out of stained glass and you make boxes out of wood so I think I can get a dermal router bits and play around with that idea. Maybe that will help you with Ideas LOL.
  13. I was looking on Seyco and saw those heads a lot cheaper than the OEM. How long have you been using that Pegas head ? Might try it
  14. Yep I looked I did see the thread about the whole Excalibur mfg fiasco and the whole Excalibur’s are now made in china. I am thinking of maybe buying a Hegner saw. I saw I can still buy parts for my saw though which is nice
  15. Kardar2
  16. Oh gotcha I zip tie all my cords together and have cord holder mounted on my stand which is on wheels so I do understand about the cord situation LOL especially when you want to clean the dust up
  17. Or you could just buy a aquarium pump and tie it in with a foot peddle ( deadman switch) and it will run only when your saw is on
  18. It has been years since I was here last. It sucks I can’t use my old screen name. there is no way to get it back cause I no longer have my old email or phone number. So I just made a new account. I am pulling out my scroll saw and dusting it off and started to watch some videos on scroll saws I have a EX21 excalibur saw and in needs some TLC. If my memory is correct I need to get a new head cause I think my blade kept slipping. I just ordered some new blades from Mikes I am glad to see he is still in Business. Once I fire it up I will take a look at it. I know Steve good had some good videos but I am looking for some good tear down video to lubricant my machine so if any of you know some good videos on the subject please pass them along if you would. I will be a Luker for a will seeing what is new in the world of scroll saws. I did see a Jet scroll saw man it looks prey much like a Excalibur LOL. I think I bought my machine back in 2011. I think I paid 7-$800 dollars back then. Maybe for ships and giggles I will go see what they are going for now days. Happy scrolling
