  1. If you are using one of those cheap butt paper masks, throw it away after each use.
  2. Have looked at the plans from the Wisconsin couple…Several good options there.
  3. That old wood clock I referred to was all cut and assembled with hand tools only,,, so shoould be possible with a scroll saw.
  4. How did they make them before CNC? I know of one wooden clock, irl, that is over 50 years old…Maybe needs adjustment once a month or less. I am going to take pictures and measurements and copy that clock.
  5. Looking for a clock plan something like this. I see plenty of plans out there, just have to decide which II want.
  6. Very happy with my Bauer,, does everything I can think of.. Guess you pros will need to tell me what I am missing,,,Love that the table stays level and the arm tilts. I am looking for clock patterns, when I am ready, \Have been looking at all the videos that are out there, So far I am learning more from the two different ladies that have made videos…They are very informative for a newbie and very logical which I appreciate.
  7. Welcome, from Michigan,,, I have a Bauer, and while I have nothing to compare it to….I love it….very quiet,,no vibration, so easy to use,, and the big thing I like is that there is no dust tube blowing dust right into my lap…. Of course, I have a vac system built into my shop,, so that helps a lot.
  8. I pulled the trigger on the Bauer 22’ variable speed scroll saw,,,Got a great price on it. It is a nice heavy saw,,75 pounds, came with rubbber feet so I put those on it and set it on my 3’ x5’ drafting table that is adjustable for tile and height,,,,,no vibration,, runs very, very quiet. I like that the is no dust tube blowing right into my lap…I find it operates very nicely from the 4:30 position,,,,,comfortable easy to reach arm pin. Of course I don’t have anything to compare it to,, but I am very satisfied with it. Found no ‘cons’ yet so far. It works just great. (I expect the HF haters to chime in soon, but I don’t care what they think.)
  9. Went to HF yesterday, and they willingly fired up that Bauer saw for me.
  10. Morning, All. I’m still trying to connect with the guy that has the Seyco for sale.
  11. Country Dairy always comes out with Peppermint Stick’ ice cream for Christmas….Real Peppermint sticks broken up in the ice cream…And the sticks are grown in local orchards….
  12. The head tilts instead of the table,, like the Bauer and the Jet. Seems a good feature to me.
  13. Country Dairy,,, local cows.
  14. Whew,, I just looked at Steve Good’s you tube, very interesting, and it also opened up a whole world of scroll saw videos,,, could spend hours there,,, learning
  15. Alright, Which would you go with>>>. The used Seyco, or a new Dewalt????
  16. My daughter uses Facebook… I’ll ask her tomorrow, and see what she can find,
  17. Kim,,, I can’t figure how to contact him,,, I don’t use Facebook/
  18. Scrappile,, I do like the Seyco..Unforunaately I don’t use Facebook, if someone coiuld get the sellers contact into for me, I would sure appreciate it,
  19. Probably going to pass one the Rockwell…. It is just an inverted jig saw. Though the seller did offer to throw in a Dremel, new in box, for $10.
  20. Thank you for your advice,,, I will take it into consideration, I notice that the Bauer has a tilting head, not a tilting table. Does this make a difference? Reviews of the Bauer compare it favorably to the Dewalt??
  21. Never heard of King. KMM,, I’m going to pass on your RBI, let me know if you decide to sell another saw. Those two on Facebook…one of them is a 6 hour round trip,,,, the other is possible. Howver, I’m going to wait until after Wednesday. I am going to both Harbor Freight ad Home Depot…Perhaps seeing the actual saws in person might help me decide
  22. both are possible’s,, thank youi,
  23. Well, it should be obvious by now, that I don’t know what I am doing,,,buying used is not a problem for me,,,can get some good deals that way, The Rockwell does use larger blades, which would be not good for fretwork. I still want to make ‘hearts’. Beyond that I don’t know..Have to do more thinking, and research. This board has been very helpful by the way, there is a vintage used scrol saw on EBay,, it looks pretty rough and the asking price is $8,000. Can you believe that???lol
  24. Looking to get into scrolling,,,I am tempted by the Bauer 22” from HF,, it is a heavy beast, 75 poundsl. they claim it equals the Dewalt 788, I don’t know…the Wen is highly rated, soo?//. then I looked at that low price Dremel,,,,really interesting. Not interested in the portable feature, but it has lots o good points, only thing I’m not sure of,, does it take pinless blades? So what do yu think..??? Anybody know anything about this Rockwell saw….Sorta looks like a scroll saw,,, they say it is. A guy offfered it to me for free, but it takes a four hour round trip??
  25. KMM, where are youu located? And which saws do you want to sell and what is their condition? thanks for a reply.
