  1. The acorn nut was a good idea. My pyramid was missing a bottom pivot. Just a hole in the base. I embedded a quarter inch acorn nut in the top of a dowel that snuggly fit the hole in the base. With the dowel in the hole in the base and the nut epoxied... but not yet dry... to the indent in the dowel I adjusted it to align perfectly with the bottom of the pyramid rod. After epoxy was dry..I put light grease and a 3/16 inch single ball bearing in the acorn nut. The rod sets on that bearing and it spins so smoothly with almost no friction. Necessary height adjustments can be made to optimize operation of the tiers of the device by pushing in or pulling out a tad the dowel the acorn nut is attached to. A bit of twiddling required but a great permanent solution.
