I've been scrolling since '97. Started out doing art for families that have lost loved ones. I drove a truck for 35 years so the time spent scrolling was limited but extremely fulfilling when I could. I live just across the interstate from the Talladega Superspeedway, about a half of a mile. One day my credit union had a special day at the track and invited all of their customers to drive the track and visit the International Motorsports Hall of Fame. I was enjoying all of the art and history and thought " wow! I can do this with my scrollsaw. A month later I was doing one of each inductee for them to display. Not a big NASCAR fan but it was so fulfilling. I met drivers from all facets of motorsports, team owners, designers. One day I had dropped off a class of 6 and was on my way out when an extremely short gentleman was walking in and he greeted me with a robust Italian accent. We exchanged pleasantries and went separate ways. About 30 minutes later I realized that he was Jacky Icyxx from indy racing fame. Two weeks later I met Emerson Fitipaldie. After a while I progressed to other projects. I'm a widower now and retired/disabled from driving leaving more time for the saw. I know that all of you enjoy this form of art work and I know the personal feelings of pride each of you/us get when we are through with a piece. The awe of looking at what's in your hands and saying " wow! I did this. ". God has given each of us a wonderful gift to be shared with others. Having shared all of this, I just wanted to say thank you for allowing me to be a part of this group and I am looking to meet other scrollers in my area to collaborate and share ideas with. Bauer 22" is scrollsaw. I have a dewalt 788 I've used for for 15 years and no problems. Then one day it went south. Replaced the pc board, motor brushes, MOTOR, wiring harness,practically every electrical. No luck. Still have it so one day maybe. 2 years ago I think. Was in harbor freight to pick up wheel barrow parts and saw the bauer 22". Parallel arm, tilting head, etc. Didn't buy it then. Looked up reviews when I got home and saw a few here on scrollbar village. Thought what the heck and picked one up the following week. That was 2 years ago. All I can say is wow. This is absolutely a top line saw. Runs smoother than old yellow ever did, plenty of room on the table, and parts can be found on Bucktool extremely inexpensive. Advise to change blade holders from pegas but the ones from the factory work fine if you treat them right. Wants to jump a little when you get above 7 but not enough to cause problems. I've been scrolling for about 26 years and I can honestly say that I haven't enjoyed this much in quite a while. $268 is the purchase price then and I haven't regretted it one bit. I swore I'd never buy a power tool from this store but I have pleasantly eaten my crow. Thanks for the reviews I read here. I'm sorry it took so long to post this, but I have to say that if your old faithful takes a dump or if you are new to the ART, the limb won't break when you step on it. Thank you for reviewing this saw.

I recently bought a new saw at hf. Both of my work horses went down. One after another. I read all of the reviews about the saw and agree with most all of them. After properly mounting the saw to the table, I checked all of the fasteners, alignment, I replaced the blade thumb screws with the ones from old yellow, loaded up and put her through the paces as close to the limit as possible. Held up wonderfully. Here's her children. Thank you all for your valuable advice. I hope ya'll enjoy them. i started scrolling 30 years ago. started on a dremal 3 inch blade saw, graduating to a ryobi 16", then the yellow machine. old yeller finally bit the dust after replacing the pcb, potentiometer, brushes and motor over the years. i saw this saw at HF and blew right past it thinking " yeah right!!!". with old yeller down, i needed a solution fast. after researching and eventually finding these reviews from a sight I actually trust, i'm finally going to pull the trigger on this hf saw. i did portraits for the International Motorsports Hall of Fame when they had new inductees. Scrolling has not only become my favorite form of wood working but has also shown me how to look at the world and myself inside. thanks for the reviews. Brady Jones, 2 Roosters Gallery.
