    It will hit the bottom either way. I don't know if there was ever any repair work done I bought it second hand. It is a type one though so it was supposed to be the better saw. Thanks everybody.

    I can angle my table to 45 degrees on my 788 but the bottom arm hits the under side of the table making it impossible. Any ideas or ways to fix it?

    I think it's going be walnut now. I got some from a friend that has a fine grain. I see what you mean about to much grain taking it all away from the picture though. Thanks.
