  1. I have finally cut this pattern. It was probably 5-6 hours cutting. I never really time anything. Cut in cherry about 1/2” and as always had to slow down the speed so I didn’t burn the wood. I like the way it came out. It was 254 cuts not 255. I am working on using semi gloss poly for the finish using a small brush. It takes longer than cutting doing two coats. I’m gonna sell this one and cut a larger one for myself. This one is 8-9 inches. I used a FD #5 skip tooth and rounded the back with a file to do the cutting. Thanks for looking.
  2. I have given away a couple canes I’ve made but still have all of those in the picture and more in the basement. I just switch them out using a different one when we go hiking. No idea what I’ll ever do w all of them.
  3. Beautiful work!
  4. We have Osage orange trees all over the place around farm fields and the lake and creeks here where I’m from. I have used it to make a cane or walking stick. It will last forever. I’ve seen fence posts made with it in old fence lines around farms. I use Teak oil to seal it. I’m not sure what else I’d use it for. I’ve seen farmers cut down and burn a line of those trees to expand their fields. Sad waste. I’ve used a smaller piece to make a vase also. I used a test tube to hold the flowers. I’m not sure what else you could make from it. It like other wood has to dry awhile Then it’s hard as a brick. We use them to go hiking too.
  5. Great work!

  12. I’ve used rapid resizer for about five years now. I think it’s worth the basic price. It lets me do what I need. Clean up the pattern resize etc. I’ve used it a lot to enlarge patterns. They’ve all come out clean and sharp.
  13. Great work. Dark color is very nice.

  19. Thanks. I’ve never tried danish oil. I’m cutting another one I’ll look at trying that. How much do you use? Let it soak for awhile? Is that the only thing you use on it?
  20. I had to do another in Walnut. Probably my favorite wood. It takes ten times longer to polyurethane than to cut. We’re gonna keep this one.
