Two Truths & A Lie:

Quote:

  1. May is a month for Mom, because she deserves more than just a day. This month's challenge is to make something for Mom. This can be for your mom, wife, or special lady in your life. If none of these apply, how about some May flowers? Post your project below. It'll be fun to see what you come up with.
  2. Thanksgiving was a big event in our family. All the grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and family friends would all come together and enjoy a carefully prepared meal together. But as a kid, I never enjoyed the holiday. We always went to my aunt’s house for Thanksgiving Dinner. She had no kids of her own, which means it was boring! But as I get older, I’ve learned to appreciate those days and now have many fond memories. It was an opportunity to take time out of our busy schedule, slow down, and enjoy our friends and family. So when I think of Thanksgiving, I think of family. This month’s scroll saw challenge is around the theme of “Family.” What does it mean to you? Post a pic of a scroll saw project that illustrates your love of family, friends and thanksgiving. When you do, write a little something about it. I really enjoy hearing the backstory behind these projects. Have fun!
  3. School starts in 3 or 4 weeks! Can you believe it!? What happened? Did your summer seem to go quicker than normal? Mine sure did. With school right around the corner, I thought a Back To School challenge would be fun. Make something for your kids or grand kids for school. Perhaps something for their teacher. Or maybe some learning toys for a school or preschool? Have fun with it and get creative. I can't wait to see what y'all come up with.
  4. If Mom gets the entire month of may, it only seems fair that Dad gets the entire month of June! This month's challenge is to make something for Dad. Maybe make it for your dad, husband, yourself, your son, or a new dad in the neighborhood! Anything a dad would like, because Dads need some love too.
  5. Easter is on April 1st this year. So you have plenty of time to prepare for the holiday. This challenge is open to interpretation. Just do something for Easter. This could be: Toys for the Kids Easter Baskets Candy holders Easter decor Bunnies...bunnies...and more bunnies. Bowls, place settings, napkin rings, centerpieces, etc for Easter Dinner Religious/Faith based projects Good Friday related It's up to you. This is your chance to be creative and make something for Easter. Post a pic or your Easter project here. I can't wait to see what you come up with!
  6. Last month's Scroll Saw Challenge was a lot of fun. Some really cool projects came about. It was so much fun, I'd thought we'd try it again. This one will take a bit of creativity. The theme this month is: Giving Thanks This is completely open to interpretation. It could be a traditional Thanksgiving project. Or maybe a gift of appreciation for someone. A sentiment you want to express. Post your pictures here. It can be a finished project or a pattern you designed. Get the creative juices flowing and have fun! I can't wait to see what you come up with.
  7. Just a friendly public service announcement; don't forget your sweetheart on Valentine's Day! It's coming up quick! So, in order to light a fire under you, I challenge you to get in the shop and make a scroll saw project for your sweetheart. Post a picture of a Valentine's Day project for that special someone in your life. Sappy sentimentalism is encouraged.
  8. Happy New Year! May 2018 bring you prosperity, comfort, and hope. With the new year, comes New Years Resolutions! So that's what this month's scroll saw challenge is. I want you to try something new with scroll sawing. Maybe you've always wanted to try intarsia? Or compound cutting? Coin cutting? Something artsy? Or maybe try your hand at pattern making? Post something that you've wanted to try but haven't had the excuse to until now. Find something new, and give it a try. I can't wait to see what you come up with!
  9. Christmas is right around the corner, and I KNOW you guys love making handmade gifts for your friends and family. So this month's challenge should be an easy one. Post a picture of a scroll saw gift you made for someone, tell us who it's for, and why you chose this for them. I can't wait to see what you come up with.
