Two Truths & A Lie:

  1. I went to the big box store to pick up a couple of things and I saw this guy with a long salt-and-peppered beard and a bright tie-dye t-shirt. He looked like he stepped straight out of Woodstock. When I got home, I looked up Woodstock. I guess it was August 15-18, 1969. It was meant to be a 3-day music festival, but it certainly turned into a symbol of the era. So, I thought it would be fun to do a scroll saw challenge about peace, love, and everything groooovy. Like the other scroll saw challenges, it is open to interpretation. From hippies to VW vans, peace signs to bubble letters, music icons or just some funky project you made. Have fun with it! I can't wait to see what you come up with!
  2. My son and I just got back from a week-long Boy Scout camp in Coeur d'Alene, ID. It was such a beautiful lake with amazing scenery. One of our fellow scouters extended their trip to Glacier National Park with their family. They posted some great pictures, too. This time of year always reminds me of family vacations, camping, fishing, and enjoying the great outdoors. So, this month's challenge is about the great outdoors, scenic vistas, or appreciating the great things mother nature has provided us. Post a picture of a project or pattern of what that means to you. And be sure to tell us a little bit about it, or a memory you had with your family vacations.
  3. School starts in 3 or 4 weeks! Can you believe it!? What happened? Did your summer seem to go quicker than normal? Mine sure did. With school right around the corner, I thought a Back To School challenge would be fun. Make something for your kids or grand kids for school. Perhaps something for their teacher. Or maybe some learning toys for a school or preschool? Have fun with it and get creative. I can't wait to see what y'all come up with.
