  1. Hey Everyone And Happy Labor Day If Your In The States! In this fun scroll saw project video, we make a neat little Miniature Horse Head Diorama! This Steve Good Design uses 1/4 inch material for the horses head and 1/2 inch material for the base. This Project would look great in a cabin out in the country! Hope you all like the video! #ArtisanPirate
  2. I just finished this Horses Reflection wood-art piece on my scroll saw. It is 11 x 14 x 1/8 inch Baltic Birch plywood. 763 individual cuts. Many hours were put into this one.
  3. I finished another horse piece today. I adapted the pattern from a stencil I found online.
  4. I tried scrolling something different than my usual wood art. This one is free-standing (no backing). To be hung on a wall.
  5. Hey Everyone! In this scroll saw project video I make this Amazingly Beautiful Horses In Fall Leaves Project, It came out amazing and is cut from mostly 1/4 inch material with a small piece of 3/4 inch material to tie it all in. The pattern comes from the old Creative Woodworks & Crafts Magazine. Hope you all like the video! #ArtisanPirate
  6. Just a recent cutting. I love old west themed art. I made the pattern from an old painting.
  7. I like the wood grain in both sides of this one. I will probably display the one on the bottom.
  8. This is an intarsia horse I made for a grand daughter. I used a pattern from Kathy Wise' book, Intarsia - Woodworking for Beginners. Overall dimensions: 13" wide by 14.5" high. Wood used: walnut for mane cherry for head and neck wenge for eye, nostril and mouth I also used a medium brown wood but I do not know the name of that wood. Here are some photos taken while building this horse. *** Pattern still applied. First cut done except for pieces to be cut from wenge. I had a lot of trouble with the eye area. Had to cut that section twice. Cutting done and some sanding done. For sanding, I used belt sander and found it left some flat marks. Using a sanding mop removed the flat sections and showed contours much better. Ready for top coat.
  9. I used an ornament pattern to make these toys. I altered them a bit to beef them up and to turn a reindeer into a horse. 4" tall made from a 2x4. Also made some Cross/fish nick-nacks. I have made over 40 of these different items now. Each takes about nine minutes, at the saw.,
  10. I cut this one for my wife. She was a champion English hunter/jumper, and I am so proud of her dedication to her sport. I designed and cut this.
  11. Hey everyone. It's good to see you're all well and still scrollin'. I've been keeping one eye on the village whilst keeping a bit of a low profile - the work load has increased, and I am also building up my show stock (as well as a completely new concept of segmentation that I'm working on...still in the early stages.) Anyway, with it being the Chinese New Year, I thought I'd share 2 new commission pieces with you. I'm not sure if any of you remember me mentioning a piece I cut for a local Chinese Takeaway, that was experiencing a number of undesirable customers? Well they wanted 2 more. The brief was simple...a horse in portrait (for the New Year) and a lotus flower in landscape. The rest was up to me (which is exactly how I love it!). Hope you all enjoy, and I'll keep dropping by in between work (when you guys have the coffee on!) Kindest Regards, Nick. http://www.scrollsawvillage.com/gallery/album/274-miscellaneous/
  12. I love horses, I really enjoy cutting this. It came out from a recycle piece of wood. Take a look.
