LarryEA Posted May 30, 2014 Report Posted May 30, 2014 One of my cats wakes me up each morning about 05:30. I thought that when I retired I could sleep in. Mr. TK says, 'Feed me first then go back to sleep.' So I get up and listen to 'meow, meow', feed him and fix coffee. Coffee's ready and the kettle has hot water for Chai and 'your' tea. and here is breakfast. My Mom used to dig up Sassafras roots, boil them and make Sassafras tea. I heard that Sassafras was where the name 'Root Beer' came from. Larry Quote
Kepy Posted May 30, 2014 Report Posted May 30, 2014 Thx for the coffee this am. Got up early and the dog thinks I am crazy. He likes to sleep in but will probably forgive me when I fix his bacon and eggs. Have been racking my brain to figure out a way to escape for a while in the morning as saw a sale advertised that has an 18" Hawk. Don't think they ever made that size but would like to check it out. Being a full time care giver makes it difficult to get away early enough. Around here sassafras tea was always served in the spring as was supposed to thin out the blood for warmer weather. sullyscroller Posted May 30, 2014 Report Posted May 30, 2014 Thanks for the coffee Larry. Been out unloading the truck and reloading for a one day show tomorrow already. We have never done this lil show before but it's free so only need to make up for gas YIPPEE. Still trying to take it easy from the surgery and all is going pretty good with the healing and pain. Had me on oxycodone for the first 5 days but had to get off it as it bound my inerds up and they put me on a lax. Said the heck with that cause it didn't work and got a bottle of mag.citrate . Can you say flush you out !!!! Now the ole plumbin is runnin like it should and my head is clear as a bell with just a couple of Tylenols. Ya'll have a blessed day sully LarryEA 1 Quote
Fay Prozora Posted May 30, 2014 Report Posted May 30, 2014 Coffee's great this a.m. and having some now. Right now it is around 5:30 a.m. and I've got the kitchen ready for our hair dresser who is coming today to do our hair. We took Mom to the nursing home yesterday and that is where she needs to be right now. After that we stopped at the Serenity shop and I found a small roll top desk and it is still in the car. I wanted it and might be able to refinish it and use it here at this house. Found a few other things too and Sis bought a half circle table and it is the cutest thing and I've never seen any thing like it. She paid around $7 and change for it and I paid $42 and change for the roll top desk. So yesterday it was a long day for us,,, 2 trips to Port Angeles and shopping in the thrift store and the like. We are plenty tuckered out now. Well my mantle clock is waiting for me to give it a finish so will go do that now. Have a great day Fay LarryEA 1 Quote

amazingkevin Posted May 30, 2014 Report Posted May 30, 2014 That breakfast looks mighty good! Finally have a primary doctor, first seen yesterday. She is on top of the ball, doesn't miss a thing. Sent me straight back to the hospital saying they are going to hate here for doing this. The tests she requested is going to have the hospital jumping. Because I didn't have insurance they did as little as possible, Serves them right. Not feeling myself.Guess waiting to see my first doctor had a lot to do with it. Landladys treating me like a dog.Knowing I'm faithful, but wounded, she still wants to throw the stick and have me fetch. Not going to happen when I seriously hurt, sorry. she doesn't talk to me now, BLESSING! Life in the big city, lol LarryEA 1 Quote
