Doug Posted June 19, 2014 Report Posted June 19, 2014 I should have put this out earlier but on June 16 tornadoes essentially leveled the small Nebraska town of Pilger with two dead. Danny of Wilson's Woodworking is a regular contributor here and his small town of Stanton, NE is only 18 minutes away. I just did a PM to Danny asking him if he was okay so hopefully he will also see this and respond here so that all will know he and his family are okay. I extended thoughts and best wishes to him in the hope that he and his family are okay and for all of those who were affected by the tornadoes. This was actually twin tornadoes currently rated as at least EF-4. You may have seen it on the weather channel or national news but if you Google Pilger, NE tornadoes you have a lot of choices you can look at or you can check this video out Wilson's Woodworking 1 Quote

Rob Roy Posted June 19, 2014 Report Posted June 19, 2014 (edited) Hope all works out for Danny and all the other folks affected, and prayers for those who lost loved ones. I saw this video on sky a couple of days ago and it looks extremely terrifying, fortunately we don't get tornadoes in Scotland. Rob Roy. Edited June 19, 2014 by Rob Roy Quote
Phantom Scroller Posted June 19, 2014 Report Posted June 19, 2014 That's HORRIFIC for the poor people in line with those, prayers out for them and the families left behind there's nothing you can do when the weather turns on you. Roly Rob Roy 1 Quote
jerrybritner Posted June 19, 2014 Report Posted June 19, 2014 I have lived in "tornado alley" for nearly thirty years and can't remember seeing two tornadoes at one time especially striking one town. Praying that Danny and his family are ok, and that God comforts and strengthens all of the families involved. Quote
wombatie Posted June 20, 2014 Report Posted June 20, 2014 Prayers for Danny and all those poor people. My thoughts are certainly with them right now. Marg Quote
Kepy Posted June 20, 2014 Report Posted June 20, 2014 It is hard to imagine the power of a tornado unless you have seen it. I've been lucky so far but did have one pass within a block of my house several years ago. I had no damage but had to clean up debris from my yard including siding from a mobile home that was wrapped around my trees. People who live in these areas are strong and resilient but prayers and support do help. Wilson's Woodworking 1 Quote
Wilson's Woodworking Posted June 20, 2014 Report Posted June 20, 2014 Thank you everybody for your wonderful thoughts and prayers. As for my wife and I we were on our honeymoon so we were not home when the tornadoes hit. They touched down about 4 miles from the town we live in and swept across the 18 miles to Pilger. My wife knew the girl that lost her daughter. She is now in a medically induced coma. Her name happens to be Candy the same as my wife's name. They had warning but they stayed in a trailer house and it cost the lady her daughter. every year people died with warning because they are foolish enough to stay above ground. Thanks again for all the thoughts and prayers it really means a lot to us and the community. Pat W. and wombatie 2 Quote
Lucky2 Posted June 21, 2014 Report Posted June 21, 2014 Thanks for checking in Dan, hope you enjoyed your honeymoon. It's sad that the lady has lost her daughter, but, I can't believe that they chose to sit it out in a double wide. Len Quote
