  3. Have been working on this one quite awhile, finally completed today.
  4. Agree great art work, skilled cutting, doesn't need the horse shoes.
  5. Awesome piece, a lot of skill displayed with this cutting.
  6. Good evening to my Village family. Still not getting on the saw as much as I would like, but working hard to change that. Finished this piece by Scrollin USA this afternoon, so thought I would share it with you all!
  7. Don't really know Denny, perhaps Mahendra does.
  8. Haven't been on in awhile, thought I would post my latest work.
  9. A light with a magnifier may not be essential but it sure comes in handy.
  10. Afternoon friends just wanted to drop in and let you all know I still exist even though I haven't been on the saw or doing shows much of late. But here is a couple of pieces I finished recently hope you enjoy!
  11. When I leaped into scrolling about five years back, I bought several saws from local pawn shows, which is also how I learned that there was both pinned and non pinned blades. I would suggest switching to a Porter Cable saw which can bought at Lowes for around $200. While a low end saw it has worked for me for several years and has no vibration. You only want to tighten your blades until there is a slight ping when you run your thumb along the edge of the blade. I would also suggest either Olsen or Flying Dutchman blades. I seem to have little trouble using either of those. And like was also stated by Triple J make sure to use the right size blade for the wood you are cutting. I cut most of mine out of 1/4 Baltic Birch Plywood, also sold at Lowes however a higher quality is available at specialty shops such as Woodcraft. Hope this helps. Jer
  12. Afternoon Here is a couple I just finished up! The dachshunds are a pattern created by Grandpa and the wolf was done by Sullyscroller.
  13. Great cutting and I never thought of the two stain idea, really makes the main subject stand out!
  14. Thanks everyone for the comments! I like the way the pine is cutting as rdatelle said less chip out and I also like the fact there is less knots and voids. What caused me to back up a bit was the finish on Annette (the white area that runs down her nose) not to pleased with that. Yes, JW is one of my top sellers another one that sells quite well is the picture of the Dalmatian and the Chihuahua and the Dalmatian had pooped on the Chihuahuas head with caption I'm Sorry! Thanks again everyone!
  15. The show schedule for this year is quickly sliding into high gear, so I have a lot of work to do on my inventory. Despite my hands I am getting it built up, a few minutes at the saw at a time. I switched to Pine from Baltic Birch on John Wayne and Annette, what do you experts think of the results!
  16. Hey got back in the shop and finished up some projects, also last weekend we began the show circuit for this season. So although I am working slower and a lot less time on the saw, I am pressing onward and upward much I owe to you my family here in the village. Your support, encouragement, and friendship is one of the many things that keeps me going. Thank You..Jer
  17. Good evening, have been working somewhat hard in the shop, and completed the pattern of my future son in laws tattoo. My daughter chose the pattern created by Mahendra as the one she wanted to be cut for his gift. Thanks to both artist for your submissions. Jer
  18. I created a post the other day, that I had gotten back on the saw after many months of absence and was working on a special pattern created for me by grampa. Well this evening I finished the cutting and it is ready for the natural stain and three coats of poly..
  19. I seriously believe that one of the perks of our art form other than creating great and awesome masterpieces, is the group of friends we meet along the way. Thanks for allowing me to be a part of your family for so many years, it has just been and incredible experience.
  20. Still cutting on it, however I see the end in sight...put a black background behind it so you can see it better... Thanks for you comments they mean so much coming from such a bunch of skilled craftsman...
  21. This is what I have finished thus far...
  22. Well by golly after several months of my saw gathering the wrong kind of dust, I have gotten back into the shop. Starting out with the pattern that Grandpa did for me almost a year ago, of my childhood home. I would post a picture of what I have completed thus far however I cant seem to get the up loader to work.. Jer
