amazingkevin Posted July 26, 2014 Report Posted July 26, 2014 I"ve been involved in a couple of projects lately.I got some free drafting tools off of craigs list free, well almost $6 bucks . A new t-square several trangles ,mechanical pencil axacto knife with saw blade in it ,a trangle shaped ruler a regular ruler etc.Any one item would cost 6 bucks .Anyway this isa just what i needed to work on a clock that's been clogging up my little storage space inside. It's all aromatic red cedar 16 " wide and taller than that with a fancy stand in 2.5 " cedar .I had to plane the 3" cedar plank i had ,and cut the stand with a 7" bandsaw..I could'nt find the sander i wanted to use but found another one someon gave me..The cedar real poped when i sanded it to a very clean clean piece of new wood again. It's going to take some more work and figure out to finish it but i passed the half way mark.i'll repost all this and more as i finish in the works in progress. this wood came from a lane cedar chest someone threw out a while back.i've been saving it for something special and this is it.What's holding me up at this point is finding a jewish or he brew blank clock facr with bold jewish numbers. Fish, wombatie, Rob Roy and 3 others 6 Quote
Bendita Posted July 26, 2014 Report Posted July 26, 2014 great looking projects Kevin, I'm working on one of the most difficult project I've attempted but its coming along fine. I have had this one in the to do drawer for a long time. It surfaced several times only to be put back on the bottom of the pile like a unpaid bill but this time it didn't escape me and it will be done in a few more days bobscroll, Phantom Scroller and amazingkevin 3 Quote

LarryEA Posted July 27, 2014 Report Posted July 27, 2014 Do you think Cedar deodorant, cologne or after shave would sell? Actually there is a Cedarwood deodorant and the add says: "lifestinks is an effective, innovative and safe deodorant" I like the smell of Cedar but I think I will still take a shower every month or so. heppnerguy Posted July 27, 2014 Report Posted July 27, 2014 I like your clock, Kevin. It is a pretty cool idea. this kind of Cedar, we call it Tennessee cedar in my part of the country, is difficult to find. I finally found a place that sells it but I can only find it in about 7 inch widths. Save the small pieces and make some of those trinkets posted earlier this week. Another nice project.
