Strange question to ask, Carl. Sounds like you need to take your passport to the Docs to prove to them where you have NOT been. Hope the visit had good results for you . Take care and look after yourself. Rob Roy. Quote
Dan Posted November 1, 2014 Report Posted November 1, 2014 Next time you see them start the conversation with, "Have you been to Africa or been in contact with anyone who has?" See how they respond. Or you coukd say,"Not in the last 21 days. Or was it 20." Quote

bandaideman Posted November 1, 2014 Report Posted November 1, 2014 (edited) I work in the medical field and this really is for safety as crazy as it seems. this has become polcy in many places to hopefully prevent spread of Ebola as best we can. Of course the question is if you have been to Africa you could say no. Good thing you did not say yes because you would have been escorted to a private room and family members with you to another room and CDC and state health department called. I know it sounds rediculous but it is to protect you. These regulations are coming for CDC as the best protection for the public. The question is asked at front desk if it is not marked in the computer program no one can move on in the computer for that visit until it is answered so I must be answered. In our case it is a pain be cause IT has not figured out to stop it from popping up at registration, in the exam room and again at check out. Hope they fix that by Monday. I hope since there has been a few cases in other countries a vaccine will be found sooner than later. For information on symptoms, and spread I would suggest going to your state health department or CDC web site. On behalf of all medical employees don't shoot the messenger we just follow the rules as crazy as they seem. Edited November 1, 2014 by bandaideman Quote

With all the hype and B.S. being spread by the liberals and our leaders ,the question seems to me to be just common sense and should be ask we are talking about a real danger here ,and I am not an alarmest ,but till we really get a handle on this issue ,some one has to show some pre-emptive ways to curb ,best they can it's spread .I am glad they are asking that question ,This is not something to pretend has been taken care of by the washington talking heads .I am not one who believes in taking a knife to a gun fight . Screening & profiling ,Is done by every man women and child in ths world in some form or fashion ,and has saved countless lives because of it's use ,staying away from dangerous situations ,and being on the alert just in case ! Knowledge is POWER ,lack of same is what gets us in very risk situations ,some times fataly ,if not at very very high costs!! P.S. results were good ,and favorable !! spirithorse Posted November 2, 2014 Report Posted November 2, 2014 First off, I hope all comes out well with the tests. I'm really surprised that the first question asked wasn't, "Do you have enough insurance or will you be paying cash today?". I have even had a doctor tell me they would perform tests and bill me and I could fight with the insurance company to try to get re-imbursed because the new insurance company my employer has subscribed with is about as bad as it can get. Oh, well, even though we pay a premium at work for insurance, at least it is better than no insurance at all. God Bless! Spirithorse Quote
Phantom Scroller Posted November 2, 2014 Report Posted November 2, 2014 When I give blood over here the question I get asked is have you been abroad and have you had sex with a man lately. well I DON'T THINK SO. but I can smell chloroform in my room. sorry couldn't resist it any longer, taking part in the story so far that is. I know EBOLA is something we need urgent attention too or it could wipe out millions so the odd question wouldn't go amiss. Roly Quote
Multifasited Posted November 2, 2014 Author Report Posted November 2, 2014 At my age there is medicare and part B .I was self employed fo 30 yrs. ,insurance for my wife & I was $ 1,106.00 per mo.in 1996 for lousy coverage ,not elgible for large group rates ,liked to sank me and my business .Nobody ,seemed to care ,includeing the state ,in Jan. ,next all of you will feel my pain as all the defered law kicks in and what was posponed till after the election kicks in . Then the reality of this liberal agenda is going to bite ,millions in the ass ,insurance wise ,plus all the undocumented citizens ligalization will cause the mashing of teeth and new awareness as it destroys medicare before you are eligible to get it!! Not to mention more job loss !! So many wanted CHANGE ,Hang on you are about to feel the full force of the two-thousand + pages that were passed before you can find out whats in it ,I wonder how many would then like to go back and change their vote .after Jan. CYA ,It's coming ! That's my rant for the Day ! So many scandals ,so many exceptions to the rule of law, AMAZING what the citizens have and will put up with !! Abolo ,as serious as it is is another distraction ,to keep the statis quo , till after the election ! Then the PARTY STARTS !!! Quote
